Manchester United will host city rivals Manchester City in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.
The draw was concluded after the last quarter-final tie between United and Everton on Wednesday night which the Red Devils won 2-0.
In the other semi-final, Championship side Brentford will be guests to fellow Londoners Tottenham Hotspur.
Ties will be played in the week commencing January 4.
However, the winners will face a lengthy wait until the final with the game pushed back to April 25 with the hope of some fans being able to attend the event at Wembley.
Brentford booked their place in the last four with a 1-0 win over Premier League Newcastle United on Tuesday night.
Josh Dasilva’s second half strike saw the much-changed Bees claim victory and move one game away from Wembley.
City, looking to win the competition for the fourth straight season, outclassed Arsenal 4-1 at the Emirates to move into the last four.
For Spurs they overcame Stoke City 3-1 in their quarter-final on Wednesday night.
With clubs dealing with a hectic schedule due to the knock-on effects of the coronavirus pandemic, the semi-finals will take place over a single leg, rather than their two-legged format.
However, unlike the previous five rounds of the competition, extra-time will be introduced to try and find a winner if the scores are level after 90 minutes.
If a winner still cannot be found after the traditional extra 30 minutes, then a penalty shoot-out will be used to find a winner.
