Celta Vigo sporting director Felipe Minambres has rebuffed speculation linking the club with a move for AC Milan’s Samu Castillejo. On Monday, reports were linking Castillejo with a move back to La Liga after one season in Serie A with the Rossoneri.
With AC Milan’s place in Europe being taken away from them due to a breach of Financial Fair Play rules, the club are keen to recoup money due to the lost revenue from not being able to play in the Europa League. Castillejo is thought to be one of those potential casualties, despite playing 31 Serie A games last season, scoring four goals in the process.

He joined from Villarreal last summer in a swap deal with Carlos Bacca and has been linked with a switch to Celt Vigo, who are looking to improve this term after narrowly avoiding relegation last season. However, speaking at a press conference, Minambres says Castillejo will not be joining the Abanca-Balaídos club this summer.
“Right now, he is far away from us. We talked to his agent about a month and a half ago, but I can’t see him leaving Milan. In addition, the figures of his salary are too expensive for us,” he concluded.
