Champions League: Alaba To Miss Real Madrid Vs Napoli Game

Austrian defender David Alaba has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s UEFA Champions League group stage clash with Napoli which takes place on Tuesday, October 3 at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

The aforementioned game is Real Madrid’s second game in the Champions League this season.

The Carlo Ancelotti led side defeated German outfit Union Berlin 1-0 in the first match on September 20 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

England midfielder Jude Bellingham scored the only goal of the game in the 94th minute.

Alaba was not included in the matchday squad for released by Carlo Ancelotti on realmadrid.com for the game with the Partenopei.

Alaba’s last game for Real Madrid was the 2-0 win over Las Palmas on September 27.

Alaba played only 41 minutes before he was subbed off for Lucas Vasquez due to a groin Injury.

Alaba joined Laliga giants Real Madrid from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich in 2021.

Alaba has made one appearance for Los Blancos in the Champions League this season.

The 31 year old has notched one assist in eight games across all competitions for Real Madrid this season.

They are second in Group C of the 2023/24 Champions League with three points after matchday one.

Real Madrid have won the Champions League a record 14 times.
