Semi Ajayi’s West Bromwich Albion’s hopes of securing automatic promotion to the Premier League suffered another setback following their 2-1 away defeat at Huddersfield Town on Friday, Completesports.com reports.
The defeat means Leeds United have gained promotion back to the Premier League since 2004.
Ajayi was in action for West Brom and saw action for 90 minutes but could not prevent his side from losing.

Chris Willock gave Huddersfield the lead in the 4th minute before Dara O’Shea drew West Brom level on 42 minutes.
But with four minutes remaining in the game Arsenal’s on loan player Emile Smith-Rowe scored the winner to give Huddersfield the win.
West Brom stay second on 82 points with one game left to play in the campaign.
They would drop from second which is an automatic promotion spot if third placed Brentford beat Stoke City on Saturday.
Their final game of the season is against Queens Park Rangers at the Hawthorns on Wednesday.

Since after the restart, they have played poorly, churning out terrible results. Brentford play like they want it more.
The destiny of WestBrom is no more in their hands.
It’s been series of poor results for wesbrom after the outbreak how can u imagine a team that’s been on top from the beginning of the season if they are not careful Brentford ll take there position u reall feel 4 them
WestBrom don’t deserve to be promoted to the premier league. They are a big let down.
I don’t know what went wrong with Slavian Bîlic’s tactics since after the restart. I was watching them hoping for them to win yesterday but they were just a big flop. There Defence could do nothing to help cuz they were overwhelmed by Huddersfield attack. There Front line – most disappointing! If they should qualify to the EPL they need to haul them off and get new hungry forwards. We can borrow them our Sadiq or Dennis..lol
Thank God Stoke City defeated Brentford this afternoon. Meaning they have all to play for in there next and last match this season. If they win, they go through automatically and if they loose, they should just pray for Brentford to loose again else they will have to slog it out the hard way via the play offs
