Championship: Dennis Nominated For Watford MOTM Award In Home Win Vs Sheffield United

Emmanuel Dennis has been nominated for Watford Man of the Match award, following their home win against Sheffield United in their first game of the season in the Championship on Monday, Completesports.com reports.

Watford kicked off the new campaign with a hard fought 1-0 win against Sheffield at Vicarage Road with Dennis impressing.

He was involved in Watford’s first attempt on goal as early as the fifth minute, after playing in Senegal’s Ismaila Sarr whose strike from an angle hit the side-netting.

In the 56th minute Watford took the lead through a counter which saw Dennis sliding the ball to Sarr on the right, who then laid it for Brazilian Joao Pedro to slam home.

After the game Watford announced Dennis, Pedro and Sarr as the nominees for the Man of the Match award on their Twitter handle.

The winner will be decided by fans votes which is still ongoing as at the time of publishing this report.

Dennis finished as top scorer for Watford with 10 goals in the Premier League in his debut season, which was not enough to prevent them from relegation to the Championship.

Sadly maduka okoye didn’t make the squad list, when you pretend to be injured in a game that could have given you more experience to compete in your new club. Who is losing?? Look at desser after a busy last season flew to the US to play for Nigeria, scored against mexico and missed glorious chances against Ecuador that made him sit on the bench for later matches but he sure did learnt valuable football lessons that has put him on the highest goal scorer chart in the Belgium league..

I wish okoye well but he should learn from this… Our new coach should look for more options.. Okonkwo the ansenal boy is playing on loan in English league 2 and should be convinced to chose Nigeria, he is a good goalkeeper…

We also need more options at centre back the oyibo wall has been destroyed.. Balogun is yet to find a club, if he does it should be a lower league, awaziem is in Croatian league, ekong is regularly on the bench in English lower division.. We are left with ajayi and Kenneth who is old.. This is the time to hurt for new defenders, bassy played as a Left back in ajax in the last game and he looks better than the player who started the left back in that game, most likely he will play More as a left back for ajax.. Pesiro look for new defenders. Thank God our next competitive match is in 8 months time , this is the Best opportunity to convince more players in our defense..
