Championship: Mikel Seeks Strong Response With Boro Vs Reading; Ajayi’s Rotherham Continue Fight Against Relegation

John Mikel Obi will be hoping that Middlesbrough bounce back strongly from their damaging 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest when they tango with Reading in Skybet Championship at the Riverside Stadium this afternoon (Saturday), Completesports.com reports.

The veteran midfielder will also be eager to score or provide an assist which will be his first in his 17th Championship appearance since teaming up with Boro in January.

Manager, Tony Pulis will once again have to piece together a team from what he has left due to injuries as he attempts to drag the Teesiders back into the Sky Bet Championship play-off spot with a good result against Reading.

Boro sit in seventh position on goal difference after Monday’s defeat at Forest and in danger of missing out with just the Royals and relegation-threatened Rotherham to play.

Semi Ajayi will certainly be in action when relegation-threatened Rotherham United take a trip to The Hawthorns to lock horns with West Bromwich Albion which will be the Millers’ last away game of this season.

Ajayi will be eyeing his eight Championship goal and second assist of the campaign in 45 matches in a bid to help his side escape the drop but they must win their remaining two games.

Oghenekaro Etebo who has been nominated for Stoke City Player of the Season award will be searching for his third goal in 33 Championship appearances against Millwall at the Den also this afternoon.
