Chelsea are set to secure the future of midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek by getting him tied down to a bumper new deal. Loftus-Cheek still has two years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and may not play again this year after rupturing his Achilles tendon before the Europa League final.

However, that is not stopping Chelsea from pressing ahead with a new deal for him, with reports claiming it will stretch over five years and could be worth as much as £150,000 a week. The England international looks sure to be a key part of Frank Lampard’s plans once the former midfielder is confirmed as the club’s new manager in the next couple of days.
Loftus-Cheek proved his worth last season when chipping in with 10 goals and is expected to get even more of a look-in with Lampard once he is back to fitness. Chelsea are also ready to get fellow starlet Callum Hudson-Odoi tied down to a new contract to once and for all end all rumours linking him with a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
