Cherries youngster Charlie Seaman featured as a trialist for Exeter City on Thursday and could yet earn a move to the League Two club.
Grecians boss Matt Taylor says the 19-year-old right-back is unlikely to play in his side’s next pre-season game at Torquay United on Saturday.
But he did his chances of staying on at St James Park no harm at all with a busy performance in Thursday’s 2-2 draw at Southern League side Taunton Town – where he reportedly showed promise from his attacking right-back role.
Speaking about Seaman’s performance, Taylor said: “I think it was a difficult game for him to play in. “He has got certain attributes that will certainly put him in good stead, coming from Bournemouth and the way that they play, but if you play full-back or any defensive position in League Two then you have to be physically capable and have a certain mindset to do that as well.”
