Manchester City outcast Eliaquim Mangala could be heading back to Porto in the summer, reports have claimed. The defender has struggled to make an impact since arriving at City from Porto for £32million back in 2014, and has spent time away from the club while on loan with Valencia and Everton.

Mangala has also had back luck on the injury front, but that did not stop City from securing him to a new surprise deal until the summer of 2020. City are still open to allowing him to leave though, and reports in the Portuguese press are suggesting that Porto are weighing up a move to take him back.
Porto are in need of at least one centre-back this summer as Felipe and Eder Militao have signed for Atletico and Real Madrid respectively, and Mangala is said to be a target. There are concerns over the player’s wage demands as well as fitness, and the 28-year-old would have to take a pay cut if he is to complete a return to his former club.
