Manchester City are lining up Real Sociedad winger Mike Oyarzabal to replace Leroy Sane, should he sign for Bayern Munich this summer. The City ace has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga all summer, but boss Pep Guardiola is determined to keep him at the Etihad Stadium.

There is still a chance he could move on though and Bayern boss Niko Kovac seems to be confident a deal will be struck with City before the transfer window closes. “We want him and the club is working on it. But I’m confident and assume that we can get him,” Kovac said. “We all know that Sane is our dream player. “The public knows that, we know that. We will do everything to realise this transfer.”
City have potential replacements lined up in case Sane does move on, with Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha a known target, while the Spanish media say Oyarzabal is also on the radar. The 22-year-old has a 75million euros release clause in his contract and reports are rife suggesting City will meet it, if Sane heads for the exit door.
