Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins will play in the German Bundesliga next season following SC Paderborn ‘ s promotion to the top flight on Sunday despite a 3-1 away defeat to Dynamo Dresden, reports Completesports.com.
Paderborn ‘ s closest rival for the automatic promotion ticket, Union Berlin held their hosts Bochum to a 2-2 draw at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion.
Nigeria forward Suleiman Abdullahi who plays for Union Berlin came in as a substitute for Florian Hubner in the second half.
Both teams finished on 57 points each, but Paderborn picked the ticket on the basis of their superior goal difference.
Paderborn first earned promotion to the Bundesliga in the 2013/2014 season
but were relegated the following season, and then again to the 3. Liga the season after.
Collins featured in all of Paderborn ‘ s 34 Bundesliga B games in the 2018/2019 season but failed to find the back of the net.
The 24-year-old is in Nigeria’s 25-man provisional squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

Congratulations, Colins!
Look forward to seeing you shine at the AFCON for Nigeria, and thereafter for your club in the Bundesliga next season.
Congratulations to him. This is one of the coach giant achievement but haters will not see it because their google players were not selected. He was playing in 2 devision but coach saw potential in him and now he is a bundeslisga player. Haters oya to u…..
Congratulations to you Jamilu Collins as the worst situation is seing you play in the budesliga next season with SC Paderborn. you have gotten good skills of modern day attacking left back but do work on your scoring. You are our indispensable left back for now until another left footed player or players displace you.
Hopefully, after a good outing at the U20wc and after settling with his new club in Israel, Ikuowem Udoh will be primed to challenge him for that spot. Having played in the CHAN, CCL, U20WC, Udoh has garnered enough international experience to step into the position and challenge Collins. When you look at the fact that both players are still below 25, then you can rest easy knowing that our left back position is in safe hands for another 6 – 8 years, with the hope that both guys will improve in their game as the years roll by.
