Copa America: Uruguay Knock Out Brazil In Quarterfinal Shootout

Brazil have been eliminated from the Copa America following a 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to 10- man Uruguay.

La Selecao struggled to create opportunities in the game despite having a man advantage late in the second half when Uruguay’s Nahitan Nandez was sent off.

Dorival Junior’s side clearly missed their suspended talisman Vinicius Junior in the game.

The game was keenly contested with both teams committing 41 fouls.

With no extra time in Copa America, the game went into penalty shootout after 90 minutes.

Brazil could only convert two of their spot kicks, while Uruguay netted four times.

The victory was Uruguay’s first over their rival in 13 meetings since 2001.
