Napoli midfielder Kevin De Bruyne admitted Arsenal striker and former teammate Gabriel Jesus would help his team if he were to join the club this season, Yahoo Sports reports.
Jesus has been linked with a move away from the English capital for the longest time, and now, it seems more likely than ever before that Jesus will leave Arsenal after four years at the club.
His time at Arsenal started off quite well, but injuries derailed his time wearing the red of North London, and soon after, Arsenal signed replacements for him, which meant his role became more and more limited as time went on.
Now, he is the third choice striker for Arsenal, and even then, he is, at many points, unfit to play whenever he is actually required by the team.
However, he has been linked with a move to Italy in the last few days, and the general consensus among Arsenal fans is that it will end up happening.
The midfielder, when asked about how his team would benefit from a potential Jesus signing, talked about the player’s quality.
He said: “Gabriel Jesus would bring us quality. Quality in attack-on the ball, in hold-up play, and in the build-up. He’s the kind of player we probably don’t have right now; he’s different from Rasmus or Lorenzo.
“If he were to join, he could help us. And he brings experience, too: he knows how to win. That’s important; we’ll see what happens. No, he hasn’t called me yet. We haven’t had any contact.”
