Manchester United reportedly have no talks scheduled to try and break the long-standing contract impasse with David De Gea. The Old Trafford goalkeeper cut a miserable figure as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team conducted a lap of appreciation in Sunday’s turgid 2-0 home defeat to relegated Cardiff City.

De Gea met with departing Spanish-speaking players Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia on Monday, who have run down their contracts. United insiders, however, cannot be certain that shot stopper De Gea will not be following them out the door this summer, despite offering him wages of £350,000-per-week to sign a new five-year contract.
It is understood Solskjaer was at Carrington on Monday but De Gea’s camp are not pencilled in for talks before the Norwegian leaves for his summer break later this week. De Gea is in the final year of his deal and his advisers are seemingly waiting to see what the United squad overhaul will look like before the start of next season.
The 28-year-old has kept his cards close to his chest but there is increasing concern behind the scenes the £80m-rated Spaniard is trying to call United’s bluff, forcing them into making a decision whether to cash in before it is too late.
