Lazio maintained their unbeaten start to the Serie A season with a 3-1 win over 10-man Monza at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.
Nigeria internationals, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ebenezer Akinsanmiro were in action for Lazio and Monza respectively.
While Dele was introduced into the game in the 61st minute, Akinsanmiro saw action for 90 minutes.
The Biancocelesti have now won five of their opening six league games for the first time in their history, and move level on points (16) with Inter at the top of the table.
Maurizio Sarri’s side made a perfect start thanks to Nuno Tavares who opened the scoring after just three minutes with a powerful 25-yard strike into the top corner.

Monza thought they had equalised in the 20th minute through Gustavo Varela, but the goal was ruled out for offside. Three minutes later Lazio doubled their lead as Tavares turned provider, delivering a precise cross for Gustav Isaksen to fire past Noel Tornqvist.
The visitors’ task got even harder 10 minutes before half-time when Lorenzo Lucchesi was shown a straight red card for hauling down Tijjani Noslin when clean through on goal.
Despite being a man down, Monza gave Lazio a scare just 45 seconds after the restart when Saba Goglichidze headed home from close range following a corner to make it 2-1. The Brianzoli had chances to level through Samuele Birindelli and Varela.
Lazio held firm and sealed the win on 88 minutes through Andrea Pinamonti who got his side’s third goal.
