Dele-Bashiru: Reading Keen To Maintain Impressive Run Against Barnsley

Tom Dele-Bashiru is rearing to go again for Reading after the two-week international break, reports Completesports.com.

The Royals will return to action against Barnsley at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Saturday.

Dele-Bashiru insists he and his teammates will only get better as they look to build on the four wins they secured in their previous six outings.

“It’s been good to get some rest in, recover and recuperate, but now I’m just eager to get going and start playing again,” he told the club’s official website.

“I think we’re just slowly upping our levels; we ended the last block of games really well with a win over Cardiff, and we just need to keep improving.

“Defensively we can still do better, equally we need to attack more. We’re still gelling as a team, and we’ll keep working.

“The mood has been great, the confidence is coming back amongst the boys, the players who’ve come in, they’ve really helped, and confidence is high.

“I’m loving my time here so far, everyone has been very welcoming, we have a good group, people are always free to talk and I’m really enjoying it.”

On the weekend’s visitors, the Tykes, Dele-Bashiru knows that despite their slow start, last season’s play-off contenders will be well up for the fight in RG2 and that we’ll need our supporters in fine voice to help us hopefully see off Markus Schopp’s side.

He added: “They definitely possess quality. We’re going to respect everyone, but fear nobody. We’ll have our game plan and I’m sure we’ll execute it well.”

“Our fans are great, every home game so far, they’ve been very loud and supportive. They keep us going and I think since the first international break they’ve really helped us and pushed us forward to good results.”

This lad has been very active for Reading.
Apparently,he has played in multiple roles, centre back, right back, defensive midfield, attacking midfield and centre forward. What’s left for him is to play between the sticks haha..
Dele has really improved since his loan move to Reading. If he carries on churning good performances,Watford may have need for him to return and get involved in their quest to stay up in the premiership as early as January.

  • With etebo out till further notice, it might be wise to recall this young man back to Watford and if he does well, we could also give him a try in the Super Eagles.

I tell you the Super Eagles midfield and defence still needs a lot of work. But we can start with the midfield because when the midfield of any team collapses, the team is as good as defenceless.
So I hope our team handlers are looking into how to raise good players in midfield who can hold their own against the very best in world football even when the likes of ndidi, iwobi, etebo are not available.

I recommended Ejuke for the National team and finally he is showing what he can do.
I also recommended sadiq umar but circumstances have conspired to keep him out of the Super Eagles for now but I believe when he is given his opportunity he Will take it.

I have also advocated for the inclusion of players in the midfield such as obinna Nwobodo, alhassan yusuf, kelechi nwakali and rapheal nwadike (a rising star).
All these players cant be invited at once but with each game being played we can invite one or two of them to see if they can add something to the team.

At the end of the day its the coaches call but I hope we make the right choices in terms of players selection in the various department of the team.
