The ultimate ambition of Delta Force Football Club in the current 2018/2019 abridged league season is to ensure it retained its NPFL status, Emmanuel Chidi-Okonkwo, Chief Executive Officer of the club, Completesports.com reports.
He added this could only be achieved through hard work by getting the needed results that will keep them in safe position on the NPFL Group B table.
Speaking as a guest on a live radio sports program on Trend FM Asaba Okonkwo said the the new order will start on Sunday when they welcome Abia Warriors of Umuahia at the Stephen Keshi International Stadium Asaba.
The young football administrator said the club’s sojourn in the North had helped to toughen the Delta Ambassadors as they are now better prepared for the challenges ahead.
“The results of the last three consecutive matches away would propel them to victory against Abia Warriors,” Okonkwo said.
“It is important to go into the match on Sunday with all the determination and commitment to win.
“With a strong fan base and support from the fans rooting for the team, victory will be achieved.”
Sunday’s NPFL match day 16 clash will be Delta Force second home game at Asaba since acquiring the premiership slot of Kada City FC of Kaduna.
As was the case when they made their home debut at the Stephen Keshi Stadium against Go Round of Omoku, Rivers State, Sunday’s fixture has been slated to kick off at 6pm under the floodlights.
