Dessers Disappointed With Cremonese Defeat To Sassuolo

Cremonese forward, Cyriel Dessers can’t hide his disappointment following the side’s 3-2 away defeat to Sassuolo on Monday night.

Davide Ballardini’s side were behind 2-0 after the break but levelled 2-2 before conceding again in stoppage time.

Dessers, who has been sidelined with injury for several weeks was introduced after the break scored twice for the visitors in the game.

The Nigeria international reduced the deficit for the visitors in the 62nd minute.

The 28-year-old then scored the leveller seven minutes from time after dribbling past Sassuolo goalkeeper.

Sassuolo took all three points with Nedim Bajrami netting the winning goal deep into stoppage time.

“This result hurts. In the second half we did great, all together, also with the fans who were important, but the way it ended, this defeat is very painful.”Dessers told reporters.

“We did a great job, we are on the right track. We have to keep going like this and then the results will come naturally,”

Dessers was left on the bench in Cremonese’s previous two games.

The striker admitted it was tough for him sitting on the bench without getting a taste of action.

“That was not easy for me. But now I train well, I have a good feeling and if I start to make more minutes again, I can do my job as well as possible,”Dessers.

“I’m happy with the two goals today, but I can’t be completely satisfied because we wanted to win.”
