Dessers Nets Five Goals In Genk Friendly Win Vs Westerlo

Cyriel Dessers scored all five goals as KRC Genk hammered lower division club Westerlo 5-1 in a friendly game on Tuesday.

Dessers, 26, played the full 90 minutes in the test game as they prepare for Saturday’s trip to Antwerp.

It will be a big boost for Dessers who has failed to replicate the form that saw Genk sign him from Dutch club Heracles.

Since his move to the Belgian side Dessers has netted just four goals in 27 league appearances.

His last goal in the league was on December 6th 2020 in a 4-2 home win against Antwerp.

It is a sharp contrast from his compatriot Paul Onuachu who has 27 goals in 32 league outings.

Good one DESSERS. The goals are there in you. Everyone has their time and you never know, there could just be an unbelievable twist before the next major tournament for the SE. Remember this day when it happens. Just never stop believing and continue to work hard. Not always he who starts the race wins it. I celebrate you, and all others SE strikers doing well; Osimenegoals, Onuachu d Europe goal king, Sadiq Umar, precision master Nachoman, ever present Simy, Terem Moffi etc. You guys continue to make everyone that clamoured for Tammy look like total novices. WEYTIN OMOBOY GO FIND FROM SOKOTO DEY WELLA INSIDE HIM SHOKOTO. Lolzz.

Dessers is quality. His pace and technique impressed me. He has the mentality of a striker. A real predator around the box.
Against Tunisia, the Nigeria jersey fit him like a glove. He was a constant threat to the Tunisian defense, and almost scored. Hope this performance is the beginning of good things for Dessers. If he hadn’t moved from Heracles Almelo, he probably would still be banging in goals there, and perhaps would have been selected for our last internationals. That’s life. You can’t blame him for trying to progress.
All Dessers can do now is keep hitting the net at every opportunity. His Nigeria adventure will soon resume, hopefully.

  • Nice performance but onuachu has you beat in the attack. I still think we Need someone who can bring more to the team than onuachu in the Super Eagles attack but we cant ignore his goals. 27 scored already At club level, wow!
Desser can only hope that onuachu leaves at the end of the season so he can become the clubs main striker.

Dessers na baller a beg. The few minutes he played for Nigeria convinced me of his exceptional talent. When he starts to score again, I will be happy.

What else can I say. To God be the glory. I have said it all about Dessers last week so today, I thank God on his behalf. Ah, five goals in a single match? Are you kidding Dessers? Really? Wow.

Again, Dessers have nothing to prove to anyone.

Dessers has all it takes to be in that squad of Nigeriaany day any time. No matter what, playing regularly or not, we saw his qualities against Algeria. What is stopping him to play for Eagles is what I don’t know.

If I say they are forcing Dessers and other players on Oga Rohr, am I not right to say that?

Before turning your back away from any player, the player have to be tested in two to three matches and if that player fails then Oga Rohr can ignore him as he is doing to Dessers, Simy and Sodiq.

Don’t tell me that all of our best strikers can’t play at the same time.

If you don’t believe me, go and watch Afcon 2000. We had our best players for that tournament but unfortunately we didn’t win it because of the former CAF president, Issa Ayatu.

Apart from this Dessers new record five goals in one match, he have to be on world cup list and he deserve to be among the players that we play in Cameroon.

What a great player. Dessers is very dedicated, passionate, intelligent, reliable and dependable striker and lastly, he is very important in Oga Rohr’s team if he knows.

No time to waste time, we have fantastic players that Oga Gernot Rohr can choose from. The gaffer should make the
move. However, Congratulations to Dessers. I’m proud of you my pikin. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

    • What exactly do you really want? Someone asked you to name your 23 man squad, you refused. We have so many options upfront and it’s a good thing but everyone cannot play at the same time. He is a very good striker no doubt and his time will surely come but it’s not now as he has Onuachu as his competitor at both club and Country. Stop all this invite this and that every moment they score.
