Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers was on target but it was not enough to earn Cremonese a first Serie A win as they lost 3-2 at home to Monza in Serie A on Saturday.
It was Dessers’ third goal in 16 appearances in the Italian topflight.
The last time the former Genk striker scored in the league was 22 October, 2022, in a 2-2 draw at Spezia.
With seven minutes left in the game, Dessers scored to make it 3-2 but Monza held on to secure the three points.
Also in action for Cremonese was David Okereke who was replaced before the start of the second half.

Cremonese have now lost their last four games and remain bottom with 11 defeats, seven draws without a win in Serie A this season.
The win took Monza up to 11th on 21 points on the log.
Meanwhile, Victor Osimhen’s Napoli are now nine points ahead of champions AC Milan, who were held to a 2-2 draw at Lecce in Saturday.
On Friday, Osimhen scored two goals and provided an assist in Napoli’s 5-1 hammering of Juventus.
He has taken his tally in Italy to 12 goals in 14 league fixtures for Luciano Spalletti’s side.

Talking about eagles! I dont think goals should be the only angle of judging a striker, we need a striker with a big mind, like the ganians striker, kudus ayew and the brother, this strikers dont score club goals like our strikers! But they are far better in character and play, than these european eagles apart from osimen.

At this stage we should look towards maja, osayi samuel though a right back, but he is a quality striker good to play along osihmen in big games another striker is isaac success, hopefully balogun.

Now that most Nigeria strikers are banging goals week-in, week-out in their respective clubs, the potentiality of each striker is more important now than scoring goals alone.

@ Monkey post, mind you French LIGUE 2, ENGLISH CHAMPIONSHIP are more competitive and far better than players playing/scoring in JAPAN/CHINA/S.ARABIA/QATAR PREMIER LEAGUE.
Thank you juliet, if you look at the nations cup we won in 2013. keshi combined ìdeye and emenike to get the job done, ideye was not a prolific scorer, but the guy was a beast in the front of diffenders, his ball control and hold on play was massive, emenike was benefactor of ideye,s incredible ball sence, emenike was also a big player, these guys where just debutants including musa and v moses, they delevered like they playing for their clubs. Ike uche was our biggest striker in the team, and he was benched becos of lacuster artitude. Presently apart from osimen, there is no striker u can even compare to ideye(the lowest ranked striker among the above mentioned strikers)
Ideye is far better than awoniyi, moffi, dessers, iheanacho, unuacho, sadiq etc. If ideye couldnt make keshi squad to 2014 wcup, i wonder how these names manage to put on eagles shirt in the name of club side. Even emenike cousin bright dike is far better than these guys, Nigeria have not had it this bad with strikers, 2004 nations cup nigeria had aghahuwa, ayegbeni, agali, yakubu, matins, odemwingie, utaka, ogbeche, apart from osimen u can not compare any of our present striker to any of those old striker, now we only have osimen and ighalo been begged to come back. The only striker that will come into eagles a perform like the old bulls is osayi samuel you see the caracter from the portugal game despite playing from back he was very dangerouse, isaac is another bull like emenike, i watched him in a match against senegal he totaly out perform everyone including mane. i advice coach to look towards their direction.

What makes this writer to conclude that ideye is better than the like of Lookman, Moffi,Umar, Dresser. Ideye better than them oh my gosh . It’s the platform that made Ideye seem better. When you have a good coach that can create a system that would enable players to play to their strength . Can the best of Ideye play for Atlanta or even Serie A. In the aspect of commitment I give it to Ideye but it’s not necessarily to say he is far skilful than our present players
