Cyriel Dessers says he’s hoping to kick on his Rangers career after scoring in Philippe Clement’s side emphatic win against Hibernian on Saturday.
The Light Blues thrashed the visitors 4-0 at the Ibrox with Dessers scoring his side’s fourth goal.
Dessers said he is keen to improve his individual level.
“The manager wants us to play with energy and show it as well to the fans; high pressing, play aggressively and forward,”the 28-year-old told Rangers TV.
“We showed some bits of this today, but there’s still a lot of growth left for us. I’m sure we’ll do that, and we’ll then be a team that is difficult to stop.
“It’s a part of the game that I like to do. I’m still growing to my best level, but this was a step towards it. I hope with the new energy inside the dressing room, with the new staff and the fans, that we can push on.”
Dessers believes the support from the stands was influential as he reflected on a well-taken finish to round off the scoring.

He continued: “When Todd came on you could see his quality. I saw Tav making the run as he always does, and he pulled two defenders with him, so I became free at the last moment.
“It was an unbelievable pass from Todd to find me, I faked the shot, before putting it into the corner. I’m really happy about the goal.
“The atmosphere was unbelievable. The gaffer said at half-time that we had the fans behind us, that we need to keep up the energy, and we picked some early balls up in the second half and it got the crowd going.
“You can then see what’s possible at Ibrox and it was a nice afternoon to be playing with 50,000 people.”
Dessers linked up with Rangers from Italian club Cremonese in the summer.
The 28-year-old has been criticised by supporters and pundits following his early struggles at the club.
He has registered two goals in eight league appearances for Glasgow club this season.

Brilliant goal by Kolawole Dessers. Great pass from Cantwell. Dessers did well to create space for himself to receive the pass in a crowded box, and did even better to slot the ball past the goalie.
Was unfortunate not to have scored the 3rd goal as well. After rounding the goalie, his goal bound effort was blocked, and Sima volleyed home the rebound.
Nice all round performance. This will hopefully boost Kolawole’s confidence going forward.
Everybody know that Dessers is an all-round striker and a player who is perfect for the modern game.
“He is very mobile around the pitch and he’s very fast. He is strong and powerful in the air, comfortable on the ball and can score goals with both feet.
*** TO ME, APART FROM OSIMHEN, CYRIEL DESSERS IS THE ANOTHER AGGRESSIVE STRIKER WITH GREAT POTENTIAL.
*** I WONDER WHY COACH PASEIRO CONTINUE SNUBBING HIM AND CHUBA AKPOM FOR NATIONAL TEAM CALL-UP, AND KEEP INVITING IRRELEVANT, IRREGULAR, BENCH-WARMER PLAYERS TO SUPER EAGLE TEAM.
AND THIS IS A SIGNS THAT COACH PASEIRO IS NOT EVEN AN AVERAGE COACH TALK LESS OF GOOD COACH. HE IS A COACH THAT ALWAYS LIKE TO BE INVITING PLAYERS BASE ON EGO, SENIORITY & IRRELEVANT EXPERIENCE. HE DOESN’T CONSIDER FORMs, POTENTIALs OF A PLAYERS AS A YARDSTICK FOR INVITATION. If not, what is the business of ARIBO, IZOHO in that team, when we have AKPOM & S.OSIGWE.
My advice to those who close to Oga Paseiro is to consider Dessers in his squad for the Afcon tournament in January. Half Dessers in the Super Eagles is quit better if he knows. What coach Eguavoen could not do when he was there as a coach of the Super Eagles, Oga Paseiro can do it much better kę.
Dessers is a dangerous striker that every coach loves to have in his team.
Even Osimhen is the main striker of the Super Eagles, but Osimhen has to sweat it out before he can bench Dessers.
Dessers is a complete striker. I watched the highlight of the match, and I saw his qualities and the techniques he put in before he scored that wonderful goal.
I am pretty sure that after this goal, his confidence is back, and he’s ready to show his distinct in the Super Eagles while Dessers will be fully informed before the Afcon in January. Kai, watch out for Kolawole my pikin kę.
Osimhen, Dessers, and Boniface are the real deal in terms of scoring goals.
Nonetheless, I read it somewhere that Oga Paseiro is in talks with a golie, and I hope he convinced the new keeper to man the post for Nigeria.
I can’t wait to see the new golie and Dessers in Ivory Coast to rule the continent of Africa once again. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
Omo9ja, it was a beautiful goal indeed.
Kolawole received the pass, sold a dummy to the defenders and the goalie (he sent them on an errand to buy Agege bread and ewa agoyin), and neatly slotted the ball into the left side of the goal.
Please don’t ask me why Kolawole is requesting for ewa agoyin in Glasgow, Scotland. The main point is that the dummy he sold was bought hook, line and sinker. And the calmness and composure he displayed before scoring was great to see.
Brilliant, brilliant goal.
I still want to see Orban before I determine who our best strikers are. For now, Osimhen is the top dog, and Boniface is his able deputy. Awo is also there. I think Orban has the quality to stake a claim in the SE. Time will tell.
Nibo latunwajasi bayi o ahahahahaha. You are a typical Nigerian man @Pompei. Look at all the titles you gave Dessers goal.
As a Nigerian if you have never tried ęwa aganyin and Agege bread before kai, you can not understand Pompei analysis on how quality Dessers’s goal was. To be honest, that Dessers goal was fantabulous.
Not because of the love I have for Dessers but his superiority is rare to find in the Super Eagles currently.
I watched the replay of Kọlawole’s goal more than three times, the way he positioned himself in that box and the way he received the ball from his teammate Kai, you are right Pompei to used the term “Agege bread on ęwa aganyin”. Ah, Pompei.
As you said, let’s wait and see how the gaffer picks his strikers. Afcon is getting near every day. Fingers crossed.
Its been a while I heard from Oakfield. I hope you are doing okay over there? I miss you ooo padimi. Ire o. God bless us all
God bless Nigeria!!!
