Deulofeu On His Time At Everton

Former Everton wideman Gerard Deulofeu has admitted falling out with ex-boss Ronald Koeman after failing to win a regular spot in the side.

Deulofeu The winger was brought to Goodison Park by former boss Roberto Martinez and enjoyed his time under the-now Belgium boss, but, when he left and was replaced by Koeman, things went south and he struggled for regular matches.

He eventually went back to Barcelona and was then loaned out to AC Milan where he rediscovered his form and confidence before he moved on to current club Watford.

“The time at Everton with Martinez I consider it good, because I was very young, I learned and played a lot, and with Roberto most of the days I was happy.

We had a good time,” the striker told AS. “But in Koeman’s time I didn’t play and in the end I didn’t even get called up.

I am an ambitious player and I can’t be on the bench. So I decided to go on loan to Milan where I recovered happiness, confidence, good play. “When I am organised, in confidence, in a team where I am given freedom, both in the game and in the results you can see that I contribute a lot to the team.”
