Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has completed a return to Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, side Bendel Insurance.
The 26-year-old has signed a one-year contract with the Benin City club, marking a return to familiar surroundings after spells abroad.

Bendel Insurance confirmed Obasogie’s return on their official X account on Monday.

Obasogie left Bendel Insurance in 2024 to join Ethiopian Premier League outfit Fasil Kenema Sport Club.
The shot-stopper later moved to Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Black Stars, where he played before sealing his return to the two-time Nigerian champions.
Obasogie Excited With Bendel Insurance Return
Obasogie expressed his delight at returning to Bendel Insurance, stating that his time away from the club had helped him grow both professionally and personally.
“Back to where part of my journey began. Sometimes, life takes you away so you can grow, learn, and become stronger,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Today, I’m grateful for the opportunity to return to my former team, not just as a player, but with more experience, hunger, and determination.
“I’m ready to give my all for the badge, the team, and the supporters. Back home, back to work. Let the journey continue.”
Farewell To Singida Black Stars
The goalkeeper also penned an emotional farewell message to Singida Black Stars, thanking the Tanzanian club for the memories and experiences during his time there.
“It has been an honour to wear this badge and represent this great team. The memories, challenges, victories, and friendships I gained here will always remain special to me,” he stated.
“Though my journey with the club is coming to an end, Singida Black Stars will always have a special place in my heart.
“I wish the club nothing but success and greater achievements in the future. Thank you, Singida Black Stars. Once a star, always a star.”
Obasogie was a member of the Super Eagles squad that claimed the bronze medal at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
He has made one appearance for the three-time African champions.
