Belgian Pro League club Cercle Brugge have completed the signing of Nigerian winger Tunde Akinsola from Portuguese side AVS Futebol SAD, reports Completesports.com.
Akinsola has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option of a further year.
The 23-year-old, who is capable of operating on both flanks, will strengthen Cercle Brugge’s attacking options with his pace, explosiveness and individual quality.
He will link up with his new teammates once all necessary administrative formalities have been completed.
Murchio Excited By Akinsola’s Qualities
Cercle Brugge technical director Luciano Murchio believes Akinsola possesses the attributes to thrive at the club.
“Tunde is a strong one-v-one player who can be very dangerous in the final third and in transition moments,” Murchio told Cercle Brugge’s official website.
“Thanks to his versatility, he can play across several attacking positions and adds extra quality to our offensive options.
“He is the type of attacker who fits the way Cercle wants to play, and we are convinced he will create many dangerous attacking moments.”
Winger’s Journey To Europe
Akinsola began his career in Nigeria with Valiant FC before moving to Swedish club Vasalund at the age of 17.
He later joined Spanish side Real Valladolid in 2022, initially featuring for the reserve team before earning promotion to the first-team squad.
The winger made his La Liga debut a year later, coming on as a substitute against Sevilla.
Akinsola moved to AVS Futebol SAD on loan at the start of 2024 before the Portuguese club made the transfer permanent later that year.
He went on to establish himself as one of AVS’ standout performers, impressing with his pace, technical ability and direct attacking style.
