Done Deal: Troost-Ekong Joins Serie A Club Salernitana

Nigeria defender, William Troost-Ekong will spend the remainder of the campaign at Serie A club, Salernitana, reports Completesports.com.

Salernitana announced Troost-Ekong’s arrival through a statement on their official website on Tuesday.

The Garnets have the obligation to buy the Super Eagles vice-captain at the end of the season.

“US Salernitana 1919 communicates that it has reached an agreement with Watford FC for the temporary transfer with the right to buy the defender born in ’93 William Troost-Ekong,” the club announced through a statement in their official website on Tuesday.

Troost-Ekong spent two years at Udinese before linking up with Sky Bet Championship club Watford in 2020.

He helped Watford gained promotion to the Premier League in his first season at the club .

  • Better than Playing in Division two and even been bench there……Any Regular SE player who is above 25 years should be playing top level football in a Top5 league in Europe…..we must improve the standard of our SE……Haba

    • Ignatius Abo 1 year ago

Thumbs up brotherman. Ekong might be slightly below average but he is very dedicated. All these evil fans with evil intentions should leave him alone. He is not the only one to score own goals. Ekong still has a place as a squad member of the team.

  • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

The “worst defender in the history of the SE” according to some charlatans is back in the Serie A.

They must know more than the Directors of football of these clubs who wouldn’t stop having an eye for William.

    Congrats Ekong.

Go re-launch yourself out there in Italy.

  • JimmyBall 1 year ago

It’s not everywhere playing club football that is a national team material… This guy has always been below average. No be other African players the play modest mid-table to top-5 teams across most rated European leagues? Dude couldn’t cut it in premier league… I wish him all the best but once Adarabioyo starts suiting up for Super Eagles… the likes of Ekong suppose retire. He has been dedicted though I must say but he ain’t a modern day serious central defender in an age where goalkeepers are increasingly being expected to play decently with their legs and be able to call for backpacks and play good forward passes to central and flank defenders… We saw it all at the recently concluded world cup…

  • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

Yea…..I repeat, the “below average, worst defender in the history of the SE” according to some charlatans is back in the Serie A.

The last World class CB Nigeria ever had was Taribo West, and I cant remember any Nigerian CB after him who has played in the Serie A except of course William Troost Ekong……LMAOooo. Anybody who recalls any can please remind me.

They must know more football than the Directors of football of these clubs who wouldn’t stop having an eye for William.

“…It’s not everyone playing club football that is a national team material…” LMAOoo…as if people just wake up from the good side of their beds one day, pack their boots and go to play in the Serie A and the Epl…..LMAOooo.

Why are/have their “National Team Materials” not playing/never played in the Serie A and the EPL if just any riff raff gets to play in the Serie A and the EPL……LMAOoo.

I guess its their Spanish 2nd division relegation battlers and their libyan league journeymen who are the National team materials.

Nobody has ever called Ekong a world class CB, neither has Ekong himself ever referred to himself as a world class CB….so I dont know why some people are angry with their own guts because Ekong isnt a World class centre back….LMAOoo. The last time I checked, the last truly world class CB we had was Taribo West, and I am still racking my head trying to recall if there are any SE eligible world class centre-backs out there currently.

Ekong couldnt cut it in the EPL….., so too Leon Balogun couldnt cut it in the EPL, so too Taribo West couldnt cut it in the EPL, so too Isaac Okoronkwo couldnt cut it in the EPL, so too Taiye Taiwo couldnt cut it in the EPL, so too Ifeanyi Udeze couldnt cut it in the EPL, so too Danny Shittu couldnt cut it in the EPL…..and I can go on and on. But none of these takes nothing away from the fact that they all were good for us.

Those who hate seeing Ekong in SE colors would have to tarry awhile ehn…..LMAOoo. Their Tosin Adarabioyo who is still eyeing England’s Euro 2024 sqaud was still playing academy football when Ekong was marshalling our defense to an Olympic Bronze in seven years ago. And even he got relegated in his first full season as a 1st choice CB in the EPL….LMAOooo

Once again, Congrats to our “below average” Troost Ekong. The fact that no CB has been able to displace him in the SE for almost 7 years now shows “how world class or not” his competitors have been.

Go re-launch yourself out there in Italy boy. God’s grace and favor be upon you.

    • pompei 1 year ago

      Well said, Doc.

    • JimmyBall 1 year ago

Oga Dr.Drey… Where was all this praise-singing when Simy Toochukwu Nwankwko scored “20 Seria A” goals for his club in a season we were sending delegation to go and beg Ighalo to come back from retirement?

See why I have always preached against Favoritism and double standards? Even Ebuehi way the play better club Empoli never enjoy your Praise like this.

It was the same double standards that came to play when you championed a new-Norma in the folklore of Nigeria football with the popular “Non-Playing” captain special status for Ahmed Musa when clearly his good days are years behind him and in a league he wasn’t starting games, the likes of Anthony Nwakaeme was winning the league’s highest diadem…

Is it Ekong you want to go and play against Mbappe? Brother let’s be serious with our football otherwise the likes of CAR and Lesotho will continue to humble us with mediocre players continuing in our setup.

      • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

Hahahahahha…he has shifted attention to Simy Nwnakwo and Ahmed Musa after getting his mouth sealed on Ekong’s issue.

Can you learn to stay on one topic and stop hopping all over the place shadowboxing in order to desperately land a punch….LMAOOoooo?? I dont have time for aimless and directionless discussions this year.

Are you done with trashing Ekong or not…?

So which one pains you most, that your claims that Ekong is the worst SE CB ever is a FAT LIE…..or that Ekong has just made a move to the Serie A from the English Champioship….. or that we are not joining you to trash the only Nigeiran CB after Taribo West to have graced both the Serie A and the EPL….??? Please tell us which one of these pains you most.

So is it Adarabioyo (who is honoring the next England call he gets even if its to go sit on their bench) that will stop Mabppe, or your Olisah Ndah you want to go and play against Mbappe…..LMAOoo. Even our best defender out there Calvin Bassey is still learning his lessons here in the Eredivisie.

So please tell us the world class defenders you have for the SE that can stop Mbappe instead of Troost Ekong…..LMAOoooo. Since Mbappe is now the metrics you want to use to rate the defenders on our national team….LMAOooo

Or you are still daydreaming about Tomori……LMAOoo.????

Maybe your “many talents” NPFL defenders are the ones who should go play against Mbappe instead….LMAOooo.

“…It’s not everyone playing club football that is a national team material……” LMAOoo

Troost-Ekong just packed his bags oneday and went to play in the Serie A and the Epl like he has just done again now…..LMAOooo.

Once again, Congrats William….go and shame your haters in the Italian Serie A. Its not your fault that you have a white Mother

        • Machaveli 1 year ago

I hardly comment unnecessarily but this writeup by Dr Drey is spot on.I would rather have an average patriotic footballer/ defender who gives his all for the Super Eagles than supposedly top defenders who lacks the patriotism to represent their country with pride and honour. Me think Troost Ekong has done very well for our national team regardless of his limitations.

    • Mercy 1 year ago

I think Matthew olorunleke plays in serie A for messina before he got injured.

  • Larry 1 year ago

Congrats Ekong ! I hope you get more playing time with your new team.
This is the time for you to improve in all aspect of defending.
You need to improve in these areas: game reading, concentration, marking, passing, and speed..
I hate to say this but the fact is that Ekong is the weakest link in SE defence. The guy has the highest number of own goals scored by any SE players in the last three decades.
With Ekong in SE defense, the team hardly keeps clean sheets.
The moment Balogun is not in the team, Ekong’s flaws and technical frailty becomes very obvious.
The SE needs better leaders in the team.
I can’t love a player more than the national team. Any underperforming player or leader should not be in the team. Only the best in each position should be considered for SE..

    • JimmyBall 1 year ago

@Larry… You are a real politician… Hahaha. You stylish stated the real facts about Ekong with care to not ruffle feathers of some here.

A player like Ekong will wait ten lifetimes for average soccer nations like Netherlands to call him up… still he won’t get a single cap with KNVB.

      • Larry 1 year ago

@Jimmy, let’s try to support our own now..
        I’m only stating the obvious.

        • Abdul 1 year ago

That guy has a problem. Let him be ranting around, talking down someone that has given everything he has to this country

        • Point of correction… Yobo scored more competitive own goals than Ekong

      • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

Hahahahaha….I guess the likes of all the foreign-borns who resorted to shitty Nigeria got called up by their countries of birth and even played 3 world cups before dumping them for Nigeria……LMAOooo.

You will tell us why the likes of Balogun, Akpoguma, Aina, etc never got a call up if they were as World class as you claim they are…..LMAOooo.

Akpoguma even waited 10 lifetimes for a german senior coach’s phone call till he started growing grey hairs despite having over 60 caps at junior level……LMAOooo. E kept amassing U- caps for Germany instead of applying common sense like Ekong and switching after a handful of U- caps.

He has switched to Nigeria now going to 3 years and hanst still been able to displace Ekong, whilst the people Ekong displaced since 2015 when he made his debut have not gotten their shirts back even till 2024 AFCON……LMAOooo

This Ekong sef. He must be such a terrible kid……LMAOoooo

  • pompei 1 year ago

The same Ekong that helped Nigeria qualify for the 2018 world cup, helped Nigeria win Olympic bronze medal, helped Nigeria win Afcon bronze.
Many “talented defenders” do not achieve even 10% of what Ekong has achieved in their careers. He may not be “world class”, but a Serie A club are currently trying to sign him. Perhaps his critics know football more than the Salernitana management. Hahahaha!
Nobody is saying that Ekong must start Nigeria games, or he must be in the squad. If other center backs are better than him, Ekong himself will be the one to step down. I see him as a honest, sincere individual. But if he is still one of our best, then so be it. It is up to Peseiro and company to make that call.

  • pompei 1 year ago

JimmyBall, how many center backs in world football today relish the thought of playing against Mbappe?
Ok, if you don’t want Ekong to play against Mbappe, oya suggest another Nigerian center back who can handle Mbappe flawlessly. Something the best of the best center backs on the planet failed to do at the last 2 world cups! Note that I said “flawlessly”, since you have zero tolerance for errors.
We are talking Ekong, and your mind immediately went to Mbappe. Is Mbappe the typical type of striker that Ekong would have to deal with in matches? Diaris God ooooo!
You know what, this is the same Ekong that together with Balogun kept Lewandowski quiet when Nigeria beat Poland 1-0 on their home turf. Over the years, Ekong has held his own against some serious attacking talents. He may not do too badly against Mbappe, for all you know.

    • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

Hahahahaha….awesome answer from you as usual Pompei. This is the stuff intelligent people are made of.

Mbappe suddenly became the metrics for measuring SE defenders’ capacity.
It is the likes of Awaziem, Omeruo, Bassey, Ndah and his home based talents that will stop Mbappe since Ekong cannot.

The same Troost-Ekong who has a bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…..walked straight into our 2016 Olympic team and marshalled the defense to the podium with his “…bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…”

The same Troost-Ekong who has a bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…..walked straight into our National team in 2015 under the late Keshi had has stated 60 out of 62 games ever since with his “…bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…”

The same Troost-Ekong who has a bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…..was at the heart of the best central defensive paring we’ve had after the 1994 Squad parings and marshalled our backline to qualifying for a world cup we had absolutely no business qualifying for with his “…bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…”

The same Troost-Ekong who has a bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…..has an AFCON bronze hanging on his neck thanks to another podium finish in 2019 starting all games with his “…bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…”

This same Troost-Ekong who has a bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…..has just made a move from the English Championship to the Italian Seria A “…bad game reading, poor concentration, terrible marking, backward passing, and snail speed…”

Form remains temporary, Class is permanent.

Their World class Centre backs who can pocket Mbappe should get spotted by EPL and Seria A clubs lets see.

And these born-liars never stop with their lies….

      Lie number 1:
“…The guy has the highest number of own goals scored by any SE players in the last three decades…..”
The last time we checked, Ekong has only ever scored 2 own goals in national team colors. That doesn’t seem like a record that has not been equaled or even broken by the likes of Chidozie Awaziem or Joseph Yobo (so good he was nicknamed ‘calamity’) during his time.

      Lie number 2:
“…With Ekong in SE defense, the team hardly keeps clean sheets….” but the SE has kept about 27 clean sheets (close to half of SE games) with Ekong starting in central defence. Maybe the SE were supposed to keep 63 clean sheets in all of Ekong’s 63 appearances for Nigeris

      Lie number 3:
The moment Balogun is not in the team, Ekong’s flaws and technical frailty becomes very obvious…..but Balogun was on the bench in all but one, when Ekong started all but one of our 2019 AFCON games. Balogun was also not there when Ekong was selected as the best Centre Back of the group stages (3 rounds of AFCON games) alongside Ahmed Hegazy of Egypt in the 2.

Once again, Ekong has just been signed by a Serie A club….anyone who has a heartbreak as a result should deal with it, Their World class Centre backs who can pocket Mbappe should get spotted and signed by EPL and Seria A clubs too. Lets see how well they will pocket the strikers in those leagues before dreaming of pocketing Mbappe.

But Im sorry to be the person to break this sad news to them, Ekong isnt getting kicked out of the SE anytime soon.

  • JimmyBall 1 year ago

To be honest @Dr.Drey… Kenneth Umeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Olisah Ndah, Anthony IZUNNA, Leon Balogun, Kevin Akpoguma are all better than Ekong… Leave story.

    • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

Yes….we’ve have heard you. We know you want to be heard.
Sorry ehn. We hear……They are all better than Ekong.

No wonder Ekong walked into the SE under Keshi and has started 97% of SE games he has been call up for ever since.

No wonder too EPL and Serie A clubs have signed Ekong rather that all your other world class CB you listed above who can stop Mbappe…..LMAooo…No wonder he has rendered the rest of them bench warmers in the national team ever since he debuted in 2015

No wonder too Ekong has captained two of the clubs and national team he has played for in his career. The coaches of those clubs much be sick in their brains to have been starting and as well handing the captain’s armband to the “worst defender” in their teams.

Its obvious you knwo more football than those coaches.

“….It’s not everyone playing club football that is a national team material…” LMAOoo

No wonder scouts saw all those World Class CB national team materials you listed up there and picked the non-national team material and worst of them all in Troost-Ekong to come ball in the Serie A…….LMAOooo.

OR maybe Ekong bribed his way back to the Serie A the same way he bribes his way into the national team as you once lied.

  • JimmyBall 1 year ago

Likewise Calvin Bassey… Ekong na clug fullstop. Ghana would have picked that World Cup ticket from first leg in Accra if not for Balogun because of snail-speed Ekong.

    • JimmyBall 1 year ago

      *Kumasi rather…

    • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

I guess Balogun was absent when Ghana eventually picked it in Abuja in the full glare of 200m people…..LMAOoooo

      • Helius 1 year ago

So the Ekong wey be d bedrock of our SE defense na wetin pesin dey call average abi? 4 dat comment alone jimmy u deserve 12 strokes of utari since oversabi dey worry u by d way wey d spicy peanuts sef cos e don tey nd e get pesin wet need am

        • JimmyBall 1 year ago

@Helius… Because the Super Eagles talent mix of late has really crashed to an all-time low. We saw Ekong play in EPL… He was so poor conceding series of own goals he got put permanently on the bench.

When our coaches are ready to work to get us real talented ball players in all departments we will know. There are enough players still active to make our national team competitive but our coaches have not done a great job.

When Ekong moves to Inter Milan please come back and tell us here. I hope the Salernitana stays afloat Serie A at season end.

        • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

          Hahahaha Helius,

The same people who told us Kelechi Nwakali (now battling relegation to spanish 3rd division) is better than all super eagles midfielders combined….

The same people who told us Junior Ajayi (landlord of north africa) is better than Dessers, onuachu and Iheanacho put together….

The same people who told us that Terem Moffi is not national team material…..

They are the ones now telling us the only SE centre back after the great Taribo West to have played both in the EPL and the Serie A is the worst Nigeria CB ever……LMAOooo….as if the boy just packs his boots one day to go playing in those leagues……LMAOOoo.

They want to be heard, please tell them we have heard them as usual. Only that we will do ourselves a favour by not wasting even a crystal of salt grain in taking to their fallacies any more……LMAOooo

If we are to judge by EPL performances, a certain Leon Balogun (who was a disappointment at Brighton) or Semi “Van Dijk” Ajayi (serial championship landlord) shouldnt be anywhere near our national team. All 3 played in the championship this season but it was the “weak, useless and terrible” Ekong that a Serie A club found favour in to sign into their team…..LMAOooo.

Kenneth Omeruo never even made it to the level of sitting on the bench for a premier league game all those donkey years he was at Chelsea….LMAOoo. Calvin Bassey’s best was playin U23 and reserve games for Leicester. The Scottish league made him look good until he came to a league like the Eredivisie where real football is being played. Lets not even talk about Chidozie Awaziem who (running to 6 years) in the national team cannot boast of 30 caps yet and now plays in the Croatian league. Kevin Akpoguma (at 27 years of age and 10 years at Hoffenhiem) is 1 week in the starting line up, 2 weeks on the substitutes bench.

We cant even rate Olisah Ndah and Izunna…..LMAOoo. Those ones havent even started playing football……LMAOOo. The last time I checked, it was their CB pairing that couldn’t qualify from their U23 AFCON group stage in 2019.

Now Ekong has to mark out Mbappe, Ekong has to play in Inter Milan to be good enough for the national team…..LMAOOoo.

He should tell us which one of these his world class centre backs has marked out Mbappe, played for Inter Milan or played in better clubs than Ekong has played all his career.

The worst of Ekong is still the reason why some of his world class Centre Backs do not have a shirt in the super eagles today……LMAOooo.

Ekong walked straight into the SE central defence in 2015 when he made his debut and some people have not gotten their shirts back ever since…..LMAOooo.

Let the NFF change SE coaches 10 times between now and the next AFCON, with the current pool of CBs Nigeria has on the surface of the earth, it will still be Ekong and 1 other starting in our central defense.

If dem like make dem nak head for wall till 2024.

          • “Landlord of North Africa….” This Dr Drey no go kill persin. 🙂

          • JimmyBall 1 year ago

If you like keep looking down at North African league that is stronger than our own and their teams far more competitive than ours… The same league that Tunisia players came from and handed a crushing defeat to you at last Cup of Nations… The same North African league that boast players some who contributed to Morocco that just finished in Senior World Cup 4th place… The same North African league that the likes of Amuneke, Utaka and Garba Lawal honed their skills before taking the world by storm…

          • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

I hope all that has made the North African Leagues better than the Serie A…..LMAOooo.

You should have just said it was Morrocco’s home based team that reached the semifinals of the world cup….LMAOoo. Maybe I should remind you its the foreign borns (both players and coaching staff) whom your racist gut hates seeing in our National teams that Morocco harnessed effectively and optimally to achieve a feat unmatched before now.

“…the likes of Amuneke, Utaka and Garba Lawal honed their skills before taking the world by storm…” but it seems your Junior “better than everybody” Ajayi who will fire Nigeria to AFCON gold and the World cup finals has not finished honing his own skill there yet at the age of 26……LMAoooo.

I thought you bragged that he would move to Europe after his stint in the Libyan league……LMAOoo. He seems to have some unfinished business in Egypt ey.

  • “You cannot force anyone to choose Nigeria, you must love the country and be committed to it or you don’t bother,” William Troost-Ekong (BBC, 2019).

If you are looking for a why a large platoon of Super Eagles fans adore Ekong despite his well documented inadequacies, look no further.

“I think the decision to play for Nigeria has to be the best ever for me,” Troost-Ekong told BBC Sport in 2019.

“We have some amazing and talented players in Nigeria and to get a chance to play for a great country like ours is an honour and immense privilege.”

“… thanks to hard work, the coaches, our fans and my teammates who have all been supportive.” He concluded.

With those sort of statements, many people will gladly take a bottle on the head for Ekong. But, like all players, he has his admirers and detractors, and rightly so.

    • Ayphillydegreat 1 year ago

“Every time we play we know that Nigeria stops for 90 minutes.” William Troost-Ekong said in 2021.

I know for a fact that my SuperEagles is currently in shambles, but Ekong remains a pivotal part of our immediate future. I see him pairing Bassey or Ajayi in Ivory Coast next year while Akpoguma and Omeruo will likely be on the bench or not even make the squad.

Ekong is already a SuperEagles legend know this and know peace. Just passing through

  • JimmyBall 1 year ago

We talk and relate to football firstly on sporting terms only… all other sentiments cab take back seat. If we are not attracting top football talents born abroad that are Nigerians, then we should look ourselves in the mirror first.

Ekong won’t be the first Nigerian foreign-born to show patriotism and a wish to play for Nigeria. Cyril Dessers also did and for the larger part before he got capped he was often ignored chiefly by the person of Gernot Rohr, the fraud who ran our football to a state of mediocrity… who some like to worship till this day here.

Can any real football fan and Super Eagles faithful say Ekong is better than Umeruo or Awaziem in all honesty? Yes, he is patriotic but that’s not the topic here, I am making reference to his ability and progress since coming into SE fold.

Those like my friend @Dr.Drey can continue to speak about patriotism for less than average players or those whose time is up. Since we only want patriotic players, please no one should complain when Ahmed Musa a.k.a “Non-Playing” continue to get call-up and play ahead of the likes of Ademola Lookman and those younger lads who are really currently in their element… When we ready to talk about seriousness for Nigeria Football make una let me know…

@Dr.Drey and yes… When Junior Ajayi played for Al-Ahly despite doing well for over 5years and getting overlooked by that old fraud Gernot Rohr whom you like to worship and still sulk over his termination from SE & Nigeria, the lad was far better than Ahmed Musa… even Anthony Nwakaeme should easily have been a part of the squad but when you have a hotel manager cum player agent like Gernot Rohr… double standards becomes the go-to creed.

    • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

Hahahahaha….he is beginning to get frustrated in typical fashion…..LMAooo. I bet you never envisaged the fact that not many would be ready to join you in this your dance of public disgrace.

Once again, Can you learn to stay on one topic and stop hopping all over the place shadowboxing in order to desperately land a punch….LMAOOoooo?? We dont have time for aimless and directionless discussions this year. Because even where you are trying to drag this discussion too, be have rubbed your face in the mud several times over it in the past. Posterity has also rubbed now joined us in rubbing your face in the mud over it. Because the last time I checked our football is in the state of delirium it is today thanks to asinine comments, thought processes, mentalities and points of view of people like you who rather chose “failure with your incompetent owns” and aptly got rewarded with being booted out of AFCON and the world cup (despite having a crop of players who could “win afcon in 2weeks” with any coach…..LMAooo) by the worst possible teams the respective nations could assemble in decades……LMAOoo

Omeruo and Awaziem better than Ekong….LMAOOoo….but a Serie A club rather chose to sign Ekong ahead of them…..LMAooooo.

Omeruo stopped been of any use to us since 2014 and has not been able to wrestle a SE starting berth since 2015 when Ekong debuted. Awaziem has never even go going and had to made do with an unfamiliar RB role in order to have some 1st team starts out the 28 caps he has only managed to amass since 2017 when he made his debut…….LMAoooo.

If we are talking about progress since coming into the SE fold, we wouldnt even bring any of Awaziem and Omeruo into the topic. Omeruo has gone from being a Chelsea loanee in the Eredivisie to becoming a bit part Spanish 2nd club player currently, Awaziem has gone from being a FC Porto prospect to currently playing in the Croatian league. Whilst Ekong has gone from Groningen to getting signed for a 2nd stint in the Italian Serie A……LMAOOoo.

Lets not even talk about the fact that Ekong now already has almost the number of international caps of both of them combined…..LMAoo

I saw you arrogantly stating up there that Ekong should play in Inter Milan, then we can talk…….LMAOooo…..how about your Omeruo and Awaziem getting signed by a Serie A club first…..then we can talk…!!!

We will keep tabs on this thread to take a headcount your “…real football fan and Super Eagles faithfuls…” who will come here to claim Omeruo and Awaziem are both better than Ekong…..LMAoooo

And as regarding “non playing captains” Maybe I should remind you we have won 2 AFCON golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze with “non playing captains”……So that was one futile attempt to pin the concept on me…..LMAooo.

Sorry ehn, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but none of your world class CBs is displacing Ekong in the SE anytime soon. Its not a thing of sentiments, Its a thing of the facts on ground. You may claim to know more football than Dr.Drey, but even you best friends will recommend you for psychiatric tests should you claim to know more football than the Sporting Directors of the clubs who keep signing Ekong or the national team coaches who have been managing the SE since 2015……LMAoooo.

Please when you have found a current SE eligible central defender who can, and has proven to be able to stop Kylian Mbappe, kindly let us know ehn……we are still waiting…..LMAOooo.

Till then, you can keep building castles in the air and hating every white/ light toned skin you see out there.

      Enuff said already.

@jimmyball please shut your trap. You keep saying rubbish. Rohr ran your football to mediocrity? I’m guessing when Rohr assumed office,we were the top ranked team in Africa? I’m guessing we qualified for competitions seamlessly? So when Rohr left, how did his replacement fare? People like you are the reason we have middle fingers

*Non-playing Captain*… Ahmed Musa. Hahahaha… He wants to become Africa most capped player.

  • Akpereta Joseph 1 year ago

Nice move for him,he isn’t so bad for a cb if he is am not sure this Italy side Wii even try to get his service.all we need in Nigeria squad is a good service provider in d midfield and Nigeria Wii be amazing to watch again

    Hahahahaha….Ayphilly, why now…??? LMAOooo.

Why have you mercilessly sunk a dagger into the heart of that racist by ruling out both Omeruo and Awaziem without even trying…..LMAOooo

Omeruo and Awaziem better than Ekong…..LMAOooo….the same way Kelechi Nwakali has been better than all our midfielders combined…..LMAoooo

I guess they both have the excellent game reading, optimal concentration, outstanding marking, impeccable passing, and jet speed that Ekong has. That is why they both have neither been to displace Ekong from the staring line up of the SE under 3 different coaches nor come anywhere close to playing in the EPL or the Serie A…..LMAoooo

    • Dr. Drey 1 year ago

…that ekong does not have….. rather

They both can stop Kylian Mbappe too…..LMAoooo.

Infact, they have been stopping Kylian Mbappe before he was born….LMAOoo….Mbappe ought to have been born 5 years earlier…..it was the duo of Omeruo and Awaziem who stopped his birth…..LMAOoo

I even just heard from a little bird now that it was Omeruo who stopped Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid last season…..LMAooo and Awaziem was reponsible for stopping Mbappe from lift a 2nd world cup trophy back to back……LMAOooo

Mbappe’s eyes have seen something. I heard he was unable to have his dinner last night. They must have stopped him. HAHAHAHAHAHA!

@OmoEsan… I greet you. We are all here for the love of the Game. I appreciate your salute…

Football is a culture in Nigeria and it’s the one language we all speak.

Often when we come hard on our players it’s because we want them to compete at the same level with their peers… never out of hate or spite!

No mind my friend @Dr.Drey… Shifting goal post all the time. In this era of “Non-playing” captains in Super Eagles… everything has become wotowotoporious!

Hahahaha… I greet us all. We the wait for commencement of Super Eagles games so we can see players still relevant to the course… “ball know im people!
