Eagles Euro Roundup: Troost-Ekong Returns, Aina Subbed On As Udinese, Torino Suffer Home Defeats

William Troost-Ekong returned for Udinese in Wednesday’s Serie A encounter with relegation threatened Lecce but could not prevent them from losing 2-1 at home, Completesports.com reports.

Troost-Ekong missed his side’s 1-0 win against Cagliari on Sunday due to a ban over accumulation of cards.

The game which was Troost-Ekong’s 29th in the league, saw him play for 90 minutes.

Samir opened scoring for Udinese in the 36th minute before goals from Marco Mancosu (penalty, 40th minute) and Gianluca Lapadula (81st minute), secured the win for Lecce.

Udinese are not in danger of going down as they are 14th on 42 points and are seven points clear from the drop zone with one game left to play.

In Turin, Ola Aina was in action for Torino but ended on the losing side as they lost 3-2 at home to AS Roma.

Aina was brought on for goal scorer Alex Berenguer with nine minutes left in the game.

It was the former Chelsea player’s 31st outing for Torino in the current campaign.

The defeat means Torino are winless in their last four games  (two defeats and two draws) but are safe as they currently occupy 16th position on 39 points.

And in the Albanian League, Ndubuisi Egbo’s newly crowned champions, KF Tirana, ended the season with a 1-1 home draw against Bylis.

Up next for Egbo and his side is the Albanian Cup final against Teuta Durres on August 2nd.
