Wilfred Ndidi played a key role as Leicester City moved to second position in the Premier League in record-breaking style, demolishing 10-man Southampton 9-0 on Friday Night.
It was Ndidi’s ninth league appearance of the season for the Foxes and he has scored twice.
His international teammate, Kelechi Iheanacho was not included in the matchday squad by Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers.
Ben Chilwell opened the floodgates early on with Southampton having Ryan Bertrand dismissed for a studs-up challenge on Ayoze Perez in the build-up that was picked up by VAR.
Youri Tielemans netted the second in the 17th minute before Perez scored twice in the 19th and 39th minutes extend Leicester’s already-impressive lead as Jamie Vardy added a late first-half fifth.
The attacking pair picked up where they left off in the second half, with Perez completing his hat-trick in the 57th minute and Vardy scoring his second goal a minute later, before a James Maddison free-kick made it an eye-watering eight.
Leicester were on the verge of history when they were awarded a last minute penalty after Vardy was fouled by Yan Bednarek in the area.
He converted from the spot for his own hat-trick as the Foxes broke the record for the highest ever away win in the Premier League and matched the overall record.
In France, Moses Simon was in action for 90 minutes in Nantes’ 1-0 home loss to Monaco.
Simon has made nine league appearances for Nantes this season and has scored twice.
Samuel Chukuweze replaced Zambo Anguissa in the 61st minute as Villarreal recorded a 4-1 home win against Deportivo Alaves in a Spanish LaLiga clash.
It was Chukwueze’s ninth league game of the campaign albeit he has scored twice.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
