Ebi: Super Falcons Won’t Disappoint Against Botswana

Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi says the team is rearing to go again following Monday’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to the Banyana Banyana of South Africa, reports Completesports.com.

The defending champions put up a below par showing against Desiree Ellis’ side, who thoroughly deserved their win.

The Super Falcons will need a win against Botswana to boost their chances of securing a place in the next round of the competition.

Ebi insisted that they are fully focused on getting their campaign back on track.

“We feel bad to have lost the opening match, and against South Africa for that matter, but we have been able to put that behind us,”the 39-year-old told thenff.com.

“We resolved immediately after the match that we will give what it takes to win all remaining games.

“There is no need for too many words. All we want to do is get the win against Botswana to restore our confidence, and then we can take things from there.”

Similar was said before the South Africa game and the world knows how that went. A loss. Enough with the promises and boasts – just get the job done!

Everyone witnessed what happened to Cameroon yesterday – they tied a rag tag Togolese team. The Botswana team does have some decent players and will definitely want to punch above their weight, using SA and Togo’s performances as motivation.

The super Falcons really need to up their game. Their first against the south Africans was nothing to write home about which has in turn given the Botswanas the impetus to believe they can beat us. Mr waldrum really needs to change a lot of things . Whatever the gals smoked before their previous match should be utterly avoided. No room for complacency. African football is rapidly changing and many teams are beginning to know what we know hence our approach needs to be changed to achieve desired results (restrategizing). All the best.

That is just it. That is the spirit. You can’t just give excuses bla bla bla because you got beaten but just simply say am sorry and prove your worth which you ladies did already. I know what you capable of Falcons and I know that the return of an angry lion is very dangerous.

Just put yourselves together and give us total football. I know it won’t be easy because Botswana is not a weak team but in sha Allah, victory is ours.

We want to see you ladies playing good football. Now, go out there Falcons and make Nigeria proud once again. Good luck to our darling Super Falcons. I am always proud of you Super Falcons. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
