ECL: Lookman In Action, Iheanacho Subbed On As Leicester City Hold Roma

Super Eagles duo of Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho were in action as Leicester City played out a 1-1 draw against Roma in the Europa Conference League on Thursday.

Lookman who had a decent performance was later substituted in the 83rd minute for Ayoze Perez.

However, Iheanacho was brought in for Jamie Vardy in the 62nd minute and had a positive effect in the game.

Roma struck early when Nicola Zalewski played in captain Lorenzo Pellegrini for a smooth low finish underneath Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel in the 15th minute.

Leicester maintained their composure and deservedly equalised after 67 minutes when Ademola Lookman bundled in a cross from Harvey Barnes, via defender Gianluca Mancini.

Mourinho will be satisfied with this result as Leicester could not make their domination pay, with Roma keeper Rui Patricio saving superbly from lively substitute Kelechi Iheanacho, who also headed over from close range.

  • Dessers Scored brace today which make him the leading goal scorer on the competition with 10 goals. God no dey sleep. Ighalo’s team crashed out yesterday so whoever in charge of those friendlies should shine eyes.. Operation #Dessers-must -Plày#

If possible CS will not talk about it. Dessers should dump Nigeria and their propaganda!!!

    • Diran 2 years ago

Yes Cyriel Dessers definitely deserves to be in the new super Eagles  when players are invited for the friendlies against  Mexico and Ecuador. He is a world class goal poacher and the leading striker and goal scorer in the Europa conference league. Amazing player he is. Thanks

Oooh Me! I can’t stop laughing!

  • TALK UR OWN 2 years ago

DESSERS SCORES TWO GOALS AGAIN TODAY IN EUROPA CONFERENCE LEAGUE. WHAT A GOOD STRIKER.
INFACT ANY COACH THAT FAIL TO INVITE THIS STRIKER INTO SUPER EAGLE SETTING WILL FAIL WOEFULLY AND NEVER MAKE IT IN HIS COACHING CAREER AGAIN.
THIS GUY ALWAYS REMIND ME ROANALDO OF BRAZIL.

    • Though, the thing sounds like course but I’m somehow in support. Na wetin Dem need be that now. Some people will want me to believe that Moffi, Awoniyi and Sadiq are better than this guy.. though they are all trying and deserve their call ups but frankly not ahead of dessers. What else do you people want?
We are not supposed to be cracking up brains..one is performing for both club and country (Osimhen) a starter while the other is scoring lots of goals from the bench, even though he’s starting lately. Imagine this guy came in against Tunisia and Ghana.

With the desperation with which Egua-failure and his band of hungry ex-internationals are trying to ostracize foreign-borns from our national team, I wont be surprised if Salisu Yusuf and co also come and tell us they haven’t seen Dessers play (after deliberately omitting him from their next squad list).

A whole technical director of Nigerian football who has zero shame came out in public and claimed he doesnt know the best goal per minute Nigerian striker on earth…he has to go and watch him play live in Rotterdam before he can invite him to the national team. Nonsense.

Like someone once asked on this forum…what is that bus conductor even technically directing sef…??

To think CSN didn’t write anything about DESSERS beggars belief.

    Cry, the beloved country!

Dessers has not yet settled complete sports… no free lunch in freetown. Lol… Austin Eguaveon the nemesis of Nigeria football, the grand kadi of serial tournament non-qualifications while coaching… Mr. Wingplay… Mr.4-2-4 and according to @Dr.Drey… EGUAVEON IS ALSO Mr. 5-0-5. Eguaveon should be removed from his clueless technical direction from our football… the Man touches anything good and it turns dust. I hope he has managed to buy cable TV to watch Dessers… Eguaveon is a bribe taker. A man who should have made a case for home coaches in the future… BUNGLED EVERYTHING FOR HIS CLUELESSNESS!

    • Obinna Anyaoha 2 years ago

Eguavoen is so shameless they don’t just want that guy to rise you know they didn’t get the bribe or other money they get jumping from one place to the other on the ground of trying to convince players to play for Nigeria they didn’t get such from this guy that’s what is paining Them the guy made his choice of playing for Nigeria even business Coach genert rohr too was not happy but God will disgrace them one by one

  • Obinna 2 years ago

Madness everywhere wickedness all over the place this their class of 94 eagles self many of them are the problem of Nigeria football full of envy full of jealousy that is why eguavoen is shamelessly doing all these nonesence he is not ready to work but rather ready to block some players fantastic from playing for Nigeria for complete sports I use to respect them and take their reportage as authority but not anymore they are now bunch of joke and report nonsense at the moment

    From 4-2-4 to 5-0-5 formation.
Hahahaha, unu no go kee person for here. I don laff taya!

Oga sports minister, abeg continue to gree die for NFF on this SE coach matter. No gree for dem. Don’t give an inch!
All the other coaches should have a fair shot at the job. Interviews should be held, and the best, most qualified, whitest (snow white, if possible) coach should be hired to tinker the SE to the greatness we all know they are capable of!

We going to loose Dessers to tribalism, sentiments and corruption, those guys in glass house are not stupid, to them Dessers is another Yoruba player taking the spot of one their mediocre strikers, Awoniyi and Olayinka facing similar fate.I clown like Paul Bassey should come and refute what I just stated.

    • JimmyBall 2 years ago

@Synnyb… I wholeheartedly agree with you. There is obvious tribal and regional sentiments in players invitation to national teams… Just imagine Olayinka(Mr.Gladiator), Awoniyi(Mr.Quiet Storm) and Dessers(Mr.Magic)… all begging and pleasing to be allowed fair stake in Super Eagles involvement… a team full of clueless and overhyped one-dimensional players… I am now convinced just like @Omo9ja has been projecting his name that Cyriel Dessers is the most clinical Nigerian strike… FACTS!!!

  • Sunnyb 2 years ago

@JimmyBall, thanks bro, when great men are quiet evil will continue to triumph, but you always speaks the truth, you’re are good man. The  injustice against certain players is just too much, Amoo is facing similar fate.
