Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi could not replicate his first leg feat, as Nice crashed out in the quarter-finals of this season’s Europa Conference League in the hands of Basel.
Moffi bagged a brace, his second a spectacular bicycle kick, in the first leg which ended 2-2.
But in the reverse fixture in France it was Basel who came from behind to win 2-1 and qualify for the semi-final 4-3 on aggregate.
Moffi was replaced in the 73rd minute by Arsenal forward Nicolas Pepe, who is on loan at Nice.
In another Europa Conference League quarter-final second leg tie, Gift Orban featured for Gent but ended on the losing side as West Ham ran out 4-1 winners.
West Ham go through to the semi-finals 5-2 on aggregate after holding the Belgian club to a 1-1 draw in the first leg.
Hugo Cuypers gave Gent the lead in the 26th minute before Michail Antonio equalised for West Ham on 37 minutes.
Ten minutes into the second half West Ham went 2-1 ahead thanks to Lucas Paqueta who scored from the penalty spot.
Just three minutes later Declan Rice added the third goal and Antonio got his second and the Hammers’ fourth.

Where are all those shouting invite them to the Eagles. You all silent today
@victor whats your Point at least their are Active in their clubs and playing regularly and 1 knock out game doesn’t erase what they have achieved this season or their qualities. Orban goal scoring form is still insane. What of the players being invited to the SE who are not Active in thier clubs i.e. your captain Musa. does he deserve a place ahead of Orban?
@ugo rest your case, Musa is not going to go beyond this year with se, so others will have their time.
Mind you musa is not the only se players who does not deserve a spot in se, players like Ndidi, onuachu, aribo,Onyeka, etobo, etc currently don’t deserve a spot in se.
