Popular Nigerian hip hop artiste and former member of the now defunct Remedies, Eedris Abdulkareem, is backing the Super Eagles to win the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
The Eagles will be hoping to clinch a fourth continental title at next year’s showpiece.
In the draw that was held few days back, the three-time African champions were drawn in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau.
Speaking in an interview with The Punch, Abdulkareem however highlighted what could hinder the Eagles from achieving their target.

“Of course we can with the array of talents we have but we need to stop politicising issues and allow the real talents that are ready to play.
“Nigeria’s problem has always been favouritism, but once that is out of the way, our Eagles will soar. I just want to urge the coach to pick the best players always.”
On his favourites club, the 47-year-old revealed that he is a fan of Chelsea.
“I don’t really love football that much but I love watching Chelsea a lot. I ride and die with the Blues. I just love the colour because it is my favourite colour.
“I love Kano Pillars as well and 3SC (Shooting Stars Sports Club). I love Pillars a lot because their fans are very passionate about the team. Win or lose you can’t leave the stadium easily. It’s either they are celebrating the win or something else is happening. It’s always like a riot after every game.”
And on the possibility of Chelsea winning the Premier League this season and the re-signing of Romelu Lukaku:”Chelsea all the way for the EPL title. Chelsea signed Lukaku when he was relatively young and inexperience, but after series of loan moves and outright sale, the Belgian is back home and I feel he will teach other strikers there how to score because he is the best. Chelsea all the way for me this season.
“I feel the good omen for Chelsea since they lifted the Champions League was the coach, Thomas Tuchel. He has changed everything at the club since he arrived and that is why I feel things will get better.”
