The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has fires head coach Ehab Galal after just three games in charge of the Pharaohs, BBC Sport reports.
Galal replaced Carlos Queiroz in April after the Pharaohs failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup following defeat to Senegal in the play-offs.
But the 54-year-old was dismissed after a shock 2-0 defeat to Ethiopia in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier followed by a 4-1 friendly loss against South Korea.
EFA board member Hazem Emam said they will look to appoint a foreign coach.
Galal was appointed by Egypt after a season at Cairo-based Pyramids and previously managed several other club sides including Zamalek, El Masry, and Al Ahly Tripoli.
In his first match in charge in June, the Pharaohs edged Guinea 1-0 in a Nations Cup qualifier.
But defeats to Ethiopia and South Korea proved costly for Galal.
Emam said the EFA was “in talks with several foreign coaches” and will also bring in a technical director.
“I would like to thank coach Ehab Galal, a very respectful man, who has worked under some tough circumstances.
“I want to apologise to him, but sometimes the pressure is too much and we saw it would be better for everyone to change.”
Queiroz, the former Portugal and Iran coach and assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, had led Egypt to the AFCON final in Cameroon, where they were beaten on penalties by Senegal.
Egypt then lost to the same opposition – again in a spot-kick shootout – in the play-offs for the World Cup in Qatar.

Egypt and Nigeria seem to have something in common.
Both countries put THEIR OWN in charge of their national teams, and after woeful failure, they have no choice but to show them the door, with great speed. OUR OWN was on the job for only 3 months, EGYPT’S OWN lasted for just about the same time.
National team appointment should never be about OUR OWN, just as invitation of players should never prioritize “home-based”, or any other category of players.
The selection criterion for coaches and players should always be MERIT.
MERIT, MERIT, MERIT!
If officials refuse to select based on merit, the results will eventually FORCE them to move in the right direction.
It happened with Nigeria, now Egypt has experienced the same thing.

The previous coaches were good. Must you win always? Do I say good RADIANCE to bad rubbish? If a drama group did not perform well, what should you do? Change the script or the dramatist personal? In this situation, the results are not good, you changed the coach yet the results were still bad, all they need to do now is to change the administrators of the game and backroom staff.
