Emery: Arsenal Stars Always Want Iwobi In Starting IX

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has revealed that left-backs Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac always want Nigeria winger Alex Iwobi to play in front of them in most games, reports completesports.com.

Iwobi has featured consistently under Emery this season despite fears he could struggle for regular playing time following the departure of Arsene Wenger at the end of last season.

The 22-year-old winger has improved immensely and is now one of the key men for Emery who though has demanded improvement from the talented Nigerian.

“When I ask Nacho Monreal and Sead Kolasinac who is the player who you feel better on the pitch when he is playing, they say to us: Iwobi,” Emery told independent.co.uk

“It is because Iwobi can open space on the overlap for them. So I think Iwobi is giving a lot for us. We want to play and we want to create our philosophy and I think for that Iwobi is important. But he needs to carry on improving and he knows that the situation can still improve.”

Meanwhile, Iwobi made his 90th Premier League appearance for Arsenal who thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 at the Emirates stadium on Wednesday
He came on for Kolasinac in the 57th of the one sided encounter.

Iwobi has scored three goals and recorded six assists in 25 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season.

Despite the fear that came along the line when we all heard Arsene Wenger was sacked: thinking Iwobi might just be put out of the picture of Arsenal, It now Crystal clear that this Man(Unai Emery) is God’s sent. This man has been devoted to Iwobi’s development ever since he assumed his post as the Gunner’s gaffer and despite the criticisms he receives on Iwobi or for playing Iwobi, he still sticks with him. Thank you Unai Emery and God bless you. My prayer is for Ihenacho to enjoy such a blessing from the newly appointed Fox gaffer cuz he’s also talented but has gone far below expectations ever since he moved to Leceister City
