Manchester City coach Enzo Maresca has praised Enzo Fernández by calling him a winner with a strong winning mentality who knows how to secure major trophies like the World Cup and Club World Cup.
Enzo will form part of a new-look midfielder at the Etihad where more than £300m has been spent on three players in Fernandez, Elliot Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi.

The club rejected the opportunity to pay slightly lower for Fernandez earlier in the window, but did manage to bring down Chelsea’s £135m asking price in the final hours as they finally delivered the club-record signing.
In a chat with the club’s website, the manager added that other players value his presence and winning attitude greatly within the team environment.
“He knows how to win – World Cup, Club World Cup – and the main thing is that he’s a winner.
“When you belong to a squad and another winning player arrives, they are always happy.

“I can promise you that in the last four or five days, four or five players were asking if he’s coming or not because they want him with us.
“It’s very important that he’s with us, and we are 100% happy with that, and he’s ready to play.
“But, the captains remain as Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, Marc Guehi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.”
