EPL: Gabriel’s Solitary Goal Earns Arsenal Bragging Right

Gabriel Magalhães’ solitary goal was enough to earn Arsenal a 1-0 victory over Tottenham in Sunday’s Premier League game.

The Brazilian defender towered over the Spurs defence on 64 minutes to divert home a Bukayo Saka corner and settle a game of few chances, which the the Gunners enjoyed the better of throughout the contest and ultimately deserved their hard-fought victory.

It also capped a resilient, organised display from The Gunners, who sat deep and threatened on the counter attack, thwarting Spurs continually and making light of the absence of key midfielders, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Arsenal’s win solidifies their undefeated streak this season, placing them just two points shy of the frontrunners, Manchester City. Tottenham sit 13th with just four points from their opening four top-flight games.

Next up, Spurs travel to Coventry in the League Cup on Wednesday night prior to hosting Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.
