EPL: Man City Back To Winning Ways; Everton Edge Chelsea

After losing 1-0 to Aston Villa four days ago in the Premier League, Man City have bounced back to winning ways after defeating Luton Town 2-1 on Sunday at Kenilworth Road.

The reigning champions were facing back-to-back league defeats for the first time since December 2019 when Elijah Adebayo gave Luton the lead in first-half stoppage time, rising highest at the back post to head in Andros Townsend’s cross.

But Bernardo Silva latched on to a loose ball in the penalty area and equalised for the visitors with a fine curling effort.

Three minutes later City completed the turnaround when Jack Grealish converted Julian Alvarez’s low cross.

Victory means the champions stay fourth, four points behind leaders Liverpool, while Luton remain third from bottom, four points off safety.

In the other game, Chelsea suffered a back-to-back league defeat after the Blues lost 2-0 to Everton in Sunday’s Premier League game at Goodison Park.

Having kept the visitors at bay relatively comfortably, Abdoulaye Doucoure struck early in the second half and substitute Lewis Dobbin drilled home his first Premier League goal in added time as Everton moved four points clear of the bottom three despite their points deduction.
