Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has disclosed that his team is eager to bounce back from their opening-day setback and return to winning football matches ahead of their fixture against Ipswich Town.
Following a 2-0 defeat to Hull City, Carrick hit back at critics who claimed the players lacked effort or passion.

The loss against Hull marked the first time United had lost to a promoted side on the opening day of a Premier League season, ending a run of 13 attempts without defeat.
Looking ahead to their first home game of the season, Carrick emphasized that results depend on various factors rather than just trying or not trying, and his side is focused on improvement and getting back on track.
“Teams lose games and win games, and it’s not just because you try or you don’t try,” Carrick stated during his press conference. “There are all sorts of different reasons. I don’t have to give you the total reason, because we know what we’re trying to improve on.

“I think it’s so easy and lazy to just say ‘team loses a game, everything’s wrong’. This is wrong, this is wrong, not trying enough, not enough passion.
“We had a setback last week and we want to get back to playing well and winning football matches. It’s another tough game again.”

After the good run last season, the board and the fans are used to success.
Its not as good as it was under Sir Alex, but it was ok anyway. Starting the new season with defeats will not sit well at all.
Man U need to start performing, or he could be sacked suddenly.
Another defeat, and Carrick may be carried out of job.
And with Pep now available, the pressure on his job has increased.
Man U is one of the many clubs that will be looking at Pep.
So if Carrick desires to keep his job and keep Pep away, he has his work cut out.
