Eredivisie: Dessers’ Winning Goal At Zwolle Boosts Feyenoord’s UCL Qualification Hopes

In-form Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers netted the winning goal, as Feyenoord came from behind to beat ZEC Zwolle 2-1 in the Dutch Eredivisie on Sunday.

Dessers who started the game, netted with 13 minutes left to inspire Feyenoord to the important win.

He was then replaced just two minutes after getting on the score sheet which means he has now scored in three consecutive games.

It is his sixth goal in 20 league appearances for and his 13th in all competitions for Feyenoord who he joined on loan from Genk.

The win against ZEC Zwolle saw Feyenoord currently in third position, take their points to 55 in the standings.

Also, they are now eight points behind leaders Ajax and six behind second placed PSV with eight games left to play.

  • And I heard a foolish old man says dessers is not what feyenoord needs

  • Most underrated striker ever committed to Nigeria

  • Cyriel Dessers! Cyriel Dessers!! Cyriel Dessers!!! Please don’t let Belgium snatch you from Nigeria.Keep on holding on. To NFf,Eguavoen and Amuneke,I say :no more Comments!

What else do you want from Dessers coach Eguavoen, Amaju and NFF?

He has been informed of his life before the Afcon in Cameroon and up to this moment.

This is the sign to tell you Amaju and his company that you are just milking from Nigeria and this is the only thing, I repeat the only thing that putting smile on our faces please, we must qualify to the world cup.

We saw what Sodiq, Awoniyi, and Olayinka brought to the team at the Afcon unfortunately, there qualities not even close to Dessers still, they got called up to the Super Eagles again.

How long do you people want to do this for?

Coach Eguavoen still not recognized Dessers. He doesn’t watch YouTube and he doesn’t watch sports news and sport papers in Nigeria but they still remember Onazi that plays in Saudi Arabian league? I am so sorry for you all NFF.

Dessers, keep scoring goals, that is the only way to show your class, NFF and the coaching crew have no choice rather than to get you involved.

This is too bad. No transparency in this country and all the carbals are doing as if they own our lives. What a country.

All we are seeing is, those who have retired from football are coming back from retirement ahead of inform young players? It is well. Nepotism is the problem of Amaju and his company but fingers crossed. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!

Let’s do head to head here and see who is ahead of each other among the players bn invited to confront Ghana.

No1. Dessers vs Ighalo, who should be dropped Nigerians?

No2. Okoye vs Adebayo Adeleye? Who should be on goal Nigerians?

No3. Nwobodo vs Onazi, who should be dropped Nigerians?

Let me stop here because these are the main areas that the coaching crew have to get right before Ghana encounter.

Over to you Nigerians. After the vote then, over to you CSN. Help us deliver the message to Amaju, coaching crew and
      NFF. God bless Nigeria!!!

  • The appropriate manager will bring Dessers onboard after Eguavoen and co gets fired for incompetency. Like i said I don’t see us qualifying . My opinion though

He’s indeed a very good centre forward,it’s hard to understand why Eguavoen don’t take to this prolific arrowhead.
What Dessers will bring to our attack is something different. He is European bred and his likes don’t miss many chances and this has been the grey areas of the super eagles that needs improving. We can be very wasteful even with the likes of Osimhen and co.European and South American strikers are known for their potency in front of goal.
I have seen this dude play he can create chances for himself and can bury them as well very clinical.
While the likes of Ghana knows our regular strikers and how to stop them,I can bet African defenders struggle against good European strikers who don’t miss a lot and this are some of the reasons we exit early in the world cup.
We need Dessers in the super eagles!

Inviting a Spanish league 2 player ahead of a player at feyenord only shows how corrupt egu n co is,you placed a division 2 player on a standby list ahead of French league 1 player and still have d nerves to tell d whole world that u want to pacify everyone a national team coach uttering such a dispeakable phrase my oh my Nigerian is gone, may God forgive us all for clamouring for d sack of GR,even u too Amuneke it’s so appalling that u guys could condescend so low to this extent but he is watching from a distance God bless Nigeria

This is the guy that can really partner Osimhen but when you have greedy people like Ighalo and Musa taking up spots, younger talents like Drssers will have to make way. This is criminal …… Dessers plays in a respectable league and club and his club is third in the standings but we can confidently invite la Liga 2 players and ignore him and also put some guy in the Saudi division 2 league on standby. This is ridiculous.Ighalo sneakily came back when worldcup qualification was looking more likely and Ahmed Musa is not ready to hang his boots till after WC…..Tell me what these guys are going to do that can get us to the q final?

  • I’m absolutely confused about the hindrance of Cyriel Dessers in SE. I must be sincere with football fans in Nigeria, when Cyriel Dessers was showing interest in changing alligeance to Nigeria I prayed unto God to make it come to reality without knowing that NFF would be foot dragging in inviting him to SE. I’m always sad whenever I see this guy scores or his name is mentioned in European football just because he’s being neglected here.
How I wished he was in AFCON squad to show his meetle.
Football is the only unifying factor in Nigeria,so NFF should always make us happy by doing the right thing at the right time.
A stitch in time saves nine. Please invite Cyriel Dessers and give him adequate playing time. He has something different from other strikers in SE. Sentiment is not good

  • Do you know that Cyriel Desserts is still eligible to play for Belgium despite his one cap for Nigeria? His lone cap for Nigeria was at the Jacques Lehman’s Arena in Austria in an international friendly between the Super Eagles and the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on October 13,2020. He came on as a substitute to replace Ahmed Musa in the 72nd minute. By FIFA rules ,he can still be snatched by Belgium where his biological father hails from. For a player who chose to play for Nigeria where his mother comes from,he certainly deserves a better treatment! Please we must cap-tie Dessers in a competitive fixture like the World Cup qualifiers to fend off the advances from Belgium.

At this point I won’t even regret him playing for Belgium. He has been disrespected by Nigerian football….EvRy player got valuable game time to showcase what they have …… Dessers has not been able to since his the friendly against Tunisia. I will be happy if we lose as we dont deserve him with such treatment given to him by our corrupt and evil football heads.

  • Let us hope for the best. He has been treated unfairly. That’s Nigeria for you. Corruption everywhere among leaders in every sector.

We need help in this country.

Dessers will not change to Belgium because the switch will take a long time. But if we fail to qualify for the world cup, he may change his decision..

With some horrible selection like this, I don’t see eguavon doing much with eagles. It’s so unfortunate.

You can not have your cake and eat it. Some of us resisted the return of Ighalo and we were told that there is no striker like ighalo. We were clapped down every time and yet people are now saying we will lose Dessers.

I particularly did not want Ighalo’s return because I believed we had competent younger alternatives. Unfortunately in this country we love sentiments. That guy is a natural poacher but it is what it is.

It does not help when you have a coach like Egus who desired to bring in baby faced silas nwankwo but does not see much of dessers. Even when i complained about this, I was quickly shutdown with fans who want local content. Eventually, he will leave if Belgium offer him a place in the wc team. It happened with Ike Ugbo. Where is the wisdom in that, you lose a younger player in dessers for ighalo ought to have retired. Last last, we will be alright.

Na so we go dey look like teddy bear, until Belgium collect this boy from us?

  • Sean T 2 years ago

Dessers is the 2nd best striker we have and those stupid NFF and Coaches knows it. They just don’t care. The guy is a great finisher and very clinical in front of goal. All these old and tired legs that refused to retire permanently sha must leave after the world cup if we qualify. SE is not anybody’s birth right and it’s only for deserving players. Abeg retire in peace @ Musa, @Ighalo, @Akpeyi, @Onazi, @Balogun, @Shehu Abdullai, @Collins. We SE fans are tired of your face in the team. Please let’s better and deserving players take over na God i take beg una. Bcos of you Igahlo, Quality striker like Desseers no see chance play for SE.

  • Greenturf 2 years ago

Balogun is still relevant,Shehu Abdullahi is,we are yet to have any goalkeeper to replace Akpeyi.
