Etebo Returns To Action For Watford

Oghenekaro Etebo returned to action for Watford in Monday’s Professional Development League game against Ipswich Town at Playford Road, reports Completesports.com.

The Nigeria international featured for 45 minutes in the game which is a competition for U-23 players.

Etebo sustained a quad injury in Watford’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle United at the end of September and has been on the sidelines since then.

The 26-year-old replaced compatriot Emmanuel Dennis in the 75th minute of the encounter.

The midfielder, who is on a season-long loan at Watford from Sky Bet Championship club Stoke City made six appearances for the Hornets before the injury setback.

His return to action is a big boost for Nigeria ahead of their 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs against perennial rivals Ghana.

Etebo, who missed the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon as a result of the setback is expected to be named in Nigeria’s squad for the game.

    Great news for Nigeria!

We missed Etebo in Cameroon,it was obvious we were short in numbers in that department, his timely return is good for Nigeria because we could play Aribo as a number 10 in a 4.3.3 formation while hardworking energetic etebo and conscientious Ndidi form a solid partnership in the central midfield against the black stars of Ghana.
I would go for Lookman and Simon on either sides of Osimhen.

Baring injuries my lineup against Ghana.

    GK.Akpeyi DF.Ebuehi.Sanusi.Ajayi.Balogun MF.Etebo.Ndidi.Aribo fw.Lookman.Simon.Osimhen

My choice of Akpeyi is based on current form and experience.Uzoho is the reserve keeper for his club and lacking in game times whereas Okoye could be going through a lot after damage in confidence lately.Aina has been used sparingly lately at his club in Italy whereas his compatriot Ebuehi has featured prominently.

  • Brillian News for Nigeria a headache now as I also love Onyeka. A welcomed Headache for the coach… But no need for Nwakali he needs to work on his disicipline.

I will tell you a story and this is the honest truth. A few years ago when Kelechi Nwakali was showing no ambition in his career. I inboxed him as I did Alex Iwobi and Samuel Chukwueze (who is from Umuahia not far from my Moms village in Mbala Abia state). Alex and Samuel did not block me instead gave me a thumbs up, when I told Alex to focus and hit the gym more to bulk up on some muscle. Do you know that Kelechi Blocked me from Instagram to date. This is just to show you the arrogance in the boy. He really needs to sit up Period!!!
