Eto’o’s Son Pineda Dropped From Cameroon U-17 World Cup Squad

Etienne Eto’o Pineda, son of former Cameroon forward Samuel Eto’o has been culled from the country’s squad for the U-17 World Cup in Brazil.

Eto’o, 17, was called up to the preliminary squad for the competition, but was dropped after failing to convince the coaching crew he merited a place in the final 21-man list.

The youngster was not involved in the 2019 Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania, which the Central African Nation won, and was hoping to represent the side at the global showpiece, even though he could have represented Spain.

The Real Mallorca youth team captain, alongside five other teammates will now be heading home from South America after their removal from the side.

Further exclusions from the final young Lions list are Aurel Tiki Joel, Jordan Konango, Bryan Djile Nokoue, Enzo Tchato and Dani Barel Fotso, who ply their trade in Europe for Olympique Lyonnais, Monaco, Saint-Etienne, Montpellier and Roma, respectively.

Cameroon have been drawn in Group E where they’ll face Tajikistan, Spain and Argentina in what will be their second appearance in the competition.

  • Interesting that the day Nigeria is said to have finalised it’s under 17 world cup list, CSN find space to report on what another country is doing, but none on our own squad

What is more important is to let Nigerians know our own news. I’m not concerned with Samuel Eto’o, I’m concerned with Nigeria’s squad and so should you

    • If you had the list yesterday, why didn’t you present it. Even Fifa is yet to publish the names of players for the tournament

Clearly, ade works for CSN, lolz… This cracked me up!

@BiG D, You Are ‘Somehow Right’…! But I guess CSN Main Reason Of Reporting This Is For Nigerians To know That Camerounians Don’t Choose Players Based On sentiments/Nepotism… Since His Father is A ‘Big Ex-Internal’, His personality Should Have Earned Him A Place In The Final List Whether He Merited Or Not…

  • My people pls what is special about this post, this shameless editors in this site has chooses to always embarrassed their self,

  • Why are we faulting the editor’s the golden eaglets list is not yet available. So how else do u want CSN to get it. Are we now saying Eto’s son being dropped is not news worthy. Please let us know the kinds of news you want to hear

Don’t be liar.  There is a rule or a presidential decree that says that people who do not play in Cameroon can not participate in official competitions.  The incomprehensible is the reason why they are forced to go there and then leave them out and tell them that this is the reason for the eviction
