Euro 2020: Arsenal Star Xhaka Named MOTM In Switzerland’s Shock Win Vs France

Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka was named Man of the Match, after helping Switzerland knockout favourites France in Monday’s Euro 2020 round of 16 clash in Bucharest.

Xhaka was in superb form for Switzerland who fought back from 3-1 down to level at 3-3 before going on to win 5-4 on penalties.

He set up his side’s third goal with a brilliant through pass which Mario Gavranovic dispatched in the 90th minute.

Brilliant game by Xhaka. Was a busy bee in the midfield throughout the game. Some sympathy for Paul Pogba, who capped a fine performance with a wonder goal. And the French did not have a bad game collectively. They just ran into a determined, stubborn Swiss side that refused to lie down. Coming back like they did from 3-1 down in the last periods of the game against a side like France, has got to be one of the great comebacks in football. Dogged determination….refusing to lose….this is what it takes to beat the best. Rohr, Super Eagles, are you watching?
