Afrobeats superstar Davido and his long-time manager, Asa Asika, co-own a stake in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Inter Lagos.
Speaking on the Manager’s Playbook podcast, Asika opened up about the duo’s expanding business portfolio outside of the music industry.

“We [Davido and I] own a football team in Nigeria together. We just got promoted to the Premier League. It is called Inter Lagos,” Asika revealed.
The club successfully earned promotion from the lower-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) into the elite top-flight NPFL.
However, life in the big leagues has brought early challenges, with Inter Lagos currently sitting 19th on the table after securing four points from their opening six matches of the season.

Despite the early on-field struggles, Asika noted that the club falls under the sports arm of their broader business strategy, which spans music, sports, and lifestyle.
He emphasized that they are building the venture for long-term sustainability rather than quick gains, drawing parallels to how they patiently grew their footprints in the music industry.
