Kano Pillars earned their first point away to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in nine years with a 0-0 draw in a rescheduled NPFL Matchday 3 fixture at the Lekan Salami Stadium.
The result ended a long drought for Kano Pillars, as their previous non-defeat away to the Oluyole Warriors came on June 7, 2017—also a 0-0 draw.
Since then, Pillars had lost their last four trips to Ibadan, conceding six goals while scoring just once.
Both sides created chances but failed to convert. Shooting Stars dominated possession (65%) and had more attacks and dangerous attacks, while Kano Pillars remained solid defensively in an unbeaten start to the 2026/27 season.
Heading into the match, Kano Pillars were unbeaten in six games (two wins, four draws) while 3SC were winless in their last four league fixtures (two defeats, two draws).
The point helped Pillars continue their solid start to the campaign and move them up to sixth place on 11 points and and 3SC currently occupy 14th spot and on eight points.
Meanwhile, 3SC would hope to return to winning ways on Sunday, when they will be guests to Kun Khalifat.
As for Kano Pillars they will be on the road again, this time a trip to Jos to take on Plateau United on Sunday.
