Plateau United technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has urged his players to remain humble despite their emphatic 4-0 victory over Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, reports Completesports.com.
The Peace Boys secured the impressive win at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday, handing Kano Pillars their first defeat of the season.
Paul Samson and experienced midfielder Ekundayo Ojo scored in the first half to give the hosts a comfortable advantage before Samuel Ayanrinde and Nenrot Silas added two more goals after the break to complete the rout.
Despite the convincing performance, Ogunbote cautioned his players against becoming complacent, stressing that there is still a long way to go in the league campaign.

“The league is a marathon. We won’t allow it to get into our heads. This is just one out of the 38 matches we are going to play this season,” Ogunbote told reporters after the match.
He, however, acknowledged the importance of the victory and expressed confidence that the club’s supporters would have more reasons to celebrate as the season progresses.
“But it is a good one for us, and I can assure you that the supporters will also be happy at the end of the season,” he added.
Plateau United will look to build on the victory when they host Sporting Lagos in their next NPFL fixture.
