Sporting Lagos head coach Jeffrey Buter has expressed his delight with the form of Victor Samuel and the timely return of Odinaka Okoro as his side turns their attention toward a crucial Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Plateau United.
Samuel recently sparked a remarkable comeback for the team after Bendel Insurance seized the lead just 18 seconds into the fixture.

Following that early setback, Samuel levelled the score before Gafar Olaniyan completed the turnaround to secure all three points in front of home supporters.
Speaking ahead of their next fixture, Buter heaped praise on Samuel’s dynamic displays and welcomed the defensive boost of Okoro’s return from injury.
“I’m really happy for Samuel after what he has gone through. He is a dynamic player,” Buter said.
“Odinaka Okoro is back in the team after some time out. As a young lad, I am happy for him too.”

Looking ahead to Matchday 9, the fixture carries an added layer of intrigue for the Sporting Lagos manager, who will come up against his former colleague and friend, Shola Adegun, now part of Plateau United’s technical setup.
“We go back and prepare ahead of Plateau United on Matchday 9, with Shola Adegun, who is a friend and colleague. We shared the dugout, and he is now with Plateau United,” Buter explained.
