Cyriel Dessers was back among the goals as he netted in Feyenoord’s 2-1 home win against Maccabi Haifa, which saw them seal top spot in Group E of the Europa Conference League on Thursday, Completesports.com reports.
Dessers has now taken his tally in the Conference League to four goals while his overall for this season is nine.
He has four in the Dutch Eredivisie, four in the Conference League and one in the Champions League qualifiers for Genk before he joined Feyenoord on loan.
The Nigeria striker opened scoring for Feyenoord in the 38th minute before Arsenal on loan forward Reiss Nelson made it 2-0 on 65 minutes.

Maccabi Haifa pulled a goal back through Din David in one minute of added which was just a consolation goal.
Also, in the group Taiwo Awoniyi was in action but could not do much as Union Berlin were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Slavia Prague.
Awoniyi was on from the start before going off in the 69th minute.
The draw saw Awoniyi’s Union Berlin suffer elimination from European competition this season.
Dessers and his Feyenoord teammates top the group on 14 points Slavia Prague were second on eight points while Union Berlin finished third on seven points.
And in the Europa League, Paul Onuachu featured for Genk, who lost 1-0 at home to Rapid Wien in Group H.
The result means Genk have crashed out from the Europa League.
Onuachu was introduced for Ike Ugbo on 46 minutes but failed to help his side get anything from the game.
Genk finished bottom of the group on five points while West Ham (13 points), Dinamo Zagreb (10 points) and Rapid Wien (six points), ended in first, second and third respectively.

Dessers presently better than Ighalo. He should replace ighalo in SE.
Are they mates? A half fit Ighalo is better than 3 desserts combined. What concerns Odion Ighalo with Feyenoord playing against a lowly side in europa conference? Desser was benched by who in Genk? Same Onuachu who is finding space in Coach Rohr’s Super Eagles. He will be reinvited but might not even do much. Feyenoord where Desser plays is a bit ahead of psv, utrecht, vitesse in the eredivise. But you can’t say that of Ajax.
What they don’t know is Afcon is not a child’s play. I’m wondering what Ighalo’s bile is all about. The same people that want Rohr to be sacked are now advising him on who to field.
It means there was no option than to accept Roar but roar must not field their tribe so that roar will fail. He he he he
If you call Europa lowly compared to the Saudi Arabian league then it sums up your knowledge about football. I won’t say more nor argue. Why didn’t Ighalo stay in Europe if e sure for am…….lol what people are about to see is not the Ighalo of 2018/2019..
My proposed team dor the afcon.

Iwobi, Ekong are out of form and this explains their omission. We need to give deserving players the chance. Some will cry experience ! It has its place but ability and confidence is all that is needed most times. Michael Owen was the youngest and the best player at the world cup when he first emerged at the international scene. Wayne Rooney scored a hat trick on his debut for Manchester United.
Iwobi out of form? Lolzzzz. Please advise Iwobi on what he needs to regain form. That is the best way to criticise. Lolzzzz
Iwobi is out of form, when was the last time he scored in the premier league? When was his last assist in the EPL? He hardly gets sufficient minutes. On giving him advice, he needs to score more and provide assist. His numbers are low and for someone who is expected to carry the play making burden of the SE, it isn’t good enough (Besides, it was not aimed to criticise him but based on facts). I like iwobi as a player especially when he burst into the scene with his dazzling displays for Arsenal at the nou camp but he has declined since then.Nigeria has the team to dominate Africa fora very long time; if we would pick players devoid of sentiments.
What I find worrisome is I can pick a team like this, how is a coach who is paid USD 45k picking ighalo ahead of Awoniyi & Dessers? How is Ahmed musa who gets very little minutes at his club in an inferior league ahead of Emmanuel dennis? What is Shehu doing in that team and Amoo is not given a sniff? Even at Cyprus, he sits on the bench and some people believe that we would steam roll our way to the Afcon trophy. We would even pray to God for assistance , forgetting God does not condone injustice & indolence. How does rohr take 10 defenders to ex3cute a home match against sierra leone? What is the insistence with moses Simon who for all he does for his club is predominantly ineffective for the SE. I can’t remember when he beat his marker for pace or dribble. His set piece is abysmal yet this coach continues with him. European teams use technology to measure the statistics of their players and that defines the tactics and the personnel that takes set pieces. Yet Nigerians think they will win the world cup with the level of mind numbing decisions. People should wake up and smell the coffee!
I almost forgot it was Desser that increased his goal tally. Ha ha ha ha alias *sack coachie Rohr”
Why don’t you go apply for a club you can start with your street club and made name for your self since you know how to assemble player’s name.Yeye be deceiving you think na by to come here and list players ask PSG coach with the array of stars at his disposal
You did well not to include onuachu and iheanacho but the inclusion of amoo and tosin is too soon. Its not at the afcon that we will be trying young players. Let them feature in u23 and play in some friendly games for the Super Eagles before we can consider them.
Nwakali’s inclusion is good, he has played with the home-based eagles before and is enjoying regular playing time in his club in the Spanish second division.
Im not sure lookman will make the cut not with ahmed musa still in the team and Victor moses rumoured to coming back.
Ekong, iwobi and simon will be in the team as long as Rohr is in charge.
Omerua is a veteran defender, maybe not the most dependable but he has experience so he may make the list.
As for the attackers, Im not sure all of dessers, awoniyi and Dennis will be in the team list.
If Osimhen isnt fit enough for the afcon I guess probably two of the above could make the list. My guess will be Dennis and awoniyi because of the leagues they play in.
Thank you @sportsfan, on Tosin and amoo let us give them a chance at least. Chukwueze was also quite young at the last afcon but did really well. When a young player has ability and a high level of confidence, I believe he should be given a chance. History has shown that, even our own bukayo saka was 19 when he broke into the arsenal squad but he alongside Smith Rowe are carrying arsenal . EDSON ARANTOS DE NASCIMENTO was a teenager when he won the world cup, mbappe was also a teen when he won the world cup. I wonder if their respective coaches had shared that idea ,they might not have won that tournament.if a player has ability and is confident in his ability, I think he should get to play.Besides, Tosin’s delivery is very good, he is quite good at set pieces too whilst amoo’s play making ability is there for all to see. For those who might look down on the league he plays, do not forget that Mikel obi came from the Norwegian league and went straight into chelsea’s first team.
@Golden Child Anthony Izuchukwu and Akinkunmi Amoo can not displace Iwobi and Ekong now the experience of the two is very vital these two (Izuchuwku and Amoo) will come in and be too shaky bro maybe if they get some friendlies prior to march knock out but still a no no, a player in cyprus over a premier league star with bags of premier league and international experience 2 Afcons + World Cup, be serious mate . Iwobi and Ekong still form the spine of this team it is criminal to take them out. Moreover having them there and introducing them in the second half of a tight game is crucial. they are premier league stars still at the end of the day and still playing fairly regularly. it is criminal to exclude them bro. lol thank god you not the coach bro hahahahahahah!!!
*A Player playing in Israel* not Cyprus
Iwobi’s problem is down to Everton’s poor form before their win to Arsenal so I won’t blame Iwobi. In the Super eagles shirt he always dictates play and he is one of the few purposeful players we have. So let’s not castigate him.
Exactly! we can’t castigate our experience players that are still performing in the EPL. Rafael Benítez believes in Iwobi, Iwobi is a very good player bro no cap!!
There is a reason why those coaches do not play him in the play making role. Benitez loves him yet gives him few minutes. Is he the best we have now ? Certainly but it should not stop us from trying other options. One challenge with rohr is that he is rigid and afraid to take risk.fortune they say favours the brave. I am yet to see any successful person who abhors risk. On Dangote’s desk is an insignia “Nothing is Impossible”. What if these guys surprise us? What if we start them in a friendly and they do astonishing well? All I am saying is that we should give them a chance. If we do and they perform below par, I will be the first to raise my hands and call for them to be dropped but we should not drop players based on assumptions which might be unfounded.
Iwobi has a better Statistics playing for Nigeria than clubsides. This simply explains alot, and Benitez is not a coach one should take serious, if you talk about Conte Pep and Co then I will worry for Iwobi.
Bro, a champions league winner should not be taken serious?? Bro, let us be open to change. If we try others and they are not better than what we have then fine! We might just be pleasantly surprised.
Also Ancelloti who played iwobi as a wing back is also unserious?? A champions league winner too. There is no doubt the lad loves playing for NIGERIA, it shows when he dons the green white green but i am talking about ability now. Even emery played him on the wings and not as attacking midfielder. He also is a Europa treble winner. Is he unserious too? Let us even analyse iwobi as a play maker. Does he have the passing range of his uncle, the answer is NO! His own uncle by his own admission was reported to state that SE problem is that they need a no. 10.that is a damning indictment. Let us look at set pieces, is he any good?No again. The truth is our midfield is not the best, we really do not have midfielders who can pick a long range pass anymore. MIKEL was the last, hence why it is easy to cage the midfield.
You are missing the first name in the list, at least, according to Rohr – Moses Simon
Where is ebuehi
UP CYRIEL DESSSERS
It still baffles me why are the Nwakali brothers not getting invitation to the Super Eagles and our coach is in search of midfielders. If he could invite Shehu Abdullahi from Cyprus and Omeruo and Collins from Spanish division 2 and Germany division 2 respectively then why can’t he extend invitation to Kelechi Nwakali and Chidibere Nwakali? Who did they (Kelechi Nwakali and Chidiebere Nwakali) offend? Because it’s still baffles me why such talents are left to waste away whereas we keep lamenting that we lack creative midfielders! Let’s invitations be extended to the two brothers because they’ve what it takes to marshal our midfield excellently .
So anybody that scores should automatically be given a place on the Eagles bench. A hungry dog will shout naaaaaa waoooo!!! The boy is good that’s all. But to bench common Onuachu in SE line up is a ruse, a fat big lie. Not even talking of a top-notcher, Ighalo whose record as the highest scorer in The Nation’s Cup is still very much intact besides the experience he brings. Good luck Desser.
Good luck Desser but he needs to prove himself on African soil.
It’s past 4pm here, I said let me read some sports news only to stumble on some kind of comments masked in form of hatred. What I think is difficult to digest is, playing for clubs or even scoring there isn’t the same as when playing in Afcon, 9n African soil. That’s one of their many problems. I think our Coach Rohr knows the boys he needs to prosecute Afcon.
Coach Rohr you now have additions, when are we playing friendlies? For Desser him try and must do more .
Sack coachie rohr, invite Desser
Ha ha ha ha alias *sack coachie roar*, nothing to add. Desser is trying.
Regarding the Nwakali brothers, you asked a good kweshon, Garre.
Some may frown at Golden Pikin’s decision to include Chidi Nwakali in his list. Under normal circumstances, all things being equal, Chidi and his brother Kelechi should be in the SE, competing for starting jerseys.
The situation of the Nwakali brothers is confusing, to say the least.
Chidiebere has played just 2 matches for Tuzlaspor this season. Heard he has now transferred to a Saudi club, Tuwaiq.
Kelechi has played 16 matches for La Liga 2nd division side SD Huesca this season.
How incredible talents like these fail to find decent clubs to showcase their talent is hard to understand! I’ve read articles blaming their brother Allwell for this mess.
All is obviously not well!
Under normal circumstances, the Nwakali brothers should be SE squad members by now. They should be there, alongside Ndidi, Onyeka, and others, available for selection.
But it looks like circumstances are far from normal.
I know SE is not a rehab for players, but these 2 guys are worth taking a gamble on, in my opinion. If they realize their potentials, it could yield significant benefits down the road. The raw talent is there in abundance. They just need a little push, a little help.
Yes brother @pompei you’re very correct. I guess it’s not normal at all. I don’t even know what to think anymore about those guys. I think they truly need both physical , social and spiritual help to revive their career. It’s pricks my heart that they’re not in a good club neither anywhere close to the Super Eagles bench. These guys have all what it takes damn. I just pray God intervenes on their behalves.
What a tribalist, _everything must be we_
Not until the Nigeria Coach, Rohr invites both market women and farmers una no go stop making noise. 2nd division players have no place in Super Eagles squad.
Is this reply for me? I hope not because i had never sounded tribalistic in anyway. And from your response it shows that you are biased and a double faced entendre .And furthermore a tribalist. If second division players have no place in Super Eagles, then the likes of shehu, omeruo and Collins etc should have never be invited. The rule shouldn’t be in favor of some sets of players while against some other players. Players selection shouldn’t be based on favouritism, tribalism, and mediocrity. So go tell your Rhor to stop inviting market women and farmers to Super Eagles .
Any day any time, Dessers is ready to score more goals. This is the kind of striker that have to be in the Super Eagles. Dessers is making me proud.
Awoniyi
Dessers
Dennis
Osimhen kai, Oga Rohr is wasting talents oooo.
However, if we don’t win Afcon trophy in Cameroon next year, I don’t think Nigerians should forgive Amaju Pinnick and Oga Rohr.
We have so many talented players now.
We are having too many young talented at the RB presently.
Why Ebuehi is not included in the current squad?
I will choose Ebuehi over Ola Aina and Shehu.
Ola Aina is good but for me, he is not a Super Eagles material.
Here is another RB. His name is “Felix Agu”.
Having this young “Felix Agu” and Ebuehi in the Super Eagles is the best option. Felix turned down to represent Nigeria but now, he said his available to represent Nigeria. Although Oga Rohr made the attempt in the first place but the young star wasn’t ready then but now, he is fully ready to represent Nigeria in Cameroon.
Please check him out on YouTube. The guy Felix is like another Ebuehi oooooo.
Enough of average players in the Super Eagles. Over to you CSN.
However, I think Oga Rohr should apply for Adelakus job after Afcon in Cameroon. Scouting for Super Eagles is the best option for Mr. Gernot Rohr. NFF should make the move.
As I said before, the gaffer can not build a team for Nigeria and he will continue have good players but to build a team? I don’t think so. He doesn’t have it.
But we can make use of his man management skills to woo more players for Nigeria.
If we qualify for world cup, NFF should retain him for that role. Super Eagles need a coach that can build a team without listening to NFF.
Super Eagles need a coach who can build confidence in the team, right tactics and winning mentality. And the gaffer have to be a young man.
I love Oga Rohr so much and I hope he will consider this new position after the Afcon in Cameroon I am not impressed with Mr. Adelakun.
I want to see the combinations of Amunike, Egbo, Marnu Gerba, Peter Rufai and Enyeama at the world cup.
In terms of exposure and experience, I will choose Amunike over Egbo because Amunike has been to Afcon before and he also won under age tournament.
The combinations of Amunike, Egbo and Marnu Gerba will yield a higher impact in the history of Nigerian football if given the opportunity.
Why foriegn coach when we have these coaches?
Osimhen, Nwakali brothers, Chukwueze, Nacho and the rest that you and I are enjoying today, who discovered them? Amunike and Gerba.
It is time for our own to rule the world of football.
Lastly, congratulations to Dessers. Can’t wait to see you in the Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!
Besides the usual noise over who Rohr should select for his team, the takeaway in your post is that we have at least agreed to wait till after Afcon to discuss Coach Rohr.
The last I read, I think coach Rohr has a list already.
Only in Nigeria that club form or a good run at club level does not translate to playing well in the national team…… Certain players are guaranteed their place in the national team no matter their club fortunes because they once did something spectacular in the national team…….Now how will the team be strong?how will the team be motivated?how will the team be competitive?……..We have been staring at the results of such practice in SE’s last 5 or 6 matches now but people don’t understand yet……The team has no purpose no fighting spirit no competitive edge……The main players are now so relaxed because there is no threat to their spot…….Even retired off form players stroll back to pick up shirts with ease while young players who can give the team a competitive edge are dismissed like flies……. Winning or Dominating is not Magic? winning or Dominating does not go with sentiment or past records……. Winning or Dominating does not agree with Nepotism or Favoritism…….. Nobody wins without taking difficult and bold decisions and we all know that because keshi did it and it paid off in the Afcon 2013……Rhor already knows his Afcon squad even as we speak and it’s very very wrong because shoting the door to gate Crashers only make the in house members relax knowing well that their position is not under any threat……..Rhor has the chance to rewrite history with this team given the time and freedom he has had with them but he has allowed the Nigerians around him infect him with sentiment and nepotism……. Fingers crossed.
Rohr will rewrite history because he is coming home with the cup. We will meet Cameroon and will crush them again.
#WebelieveinRohr
Sellouts beware. Lolzzzz
The Afcon is going to be war and every team going there is going there to win it……SE must go there with their best fighters no sentiment attached……Rhor should allow 40 players battle in camp and pick the best among them no matter how long they have been in the team or what they have done for the team in the past……that’s my point
@Akp, I could not agree with you any less. With hindsight now, the likes of Bukayo Saka made a better decision . Imagine if he had decided on nigeria, the coach, the fans would have clamoured for moses Simon and the rest. Olise would have been left out of the team for etebo(facts!). Some fans would say he should start from the u23. Do you know there was a time ebere eze was doing well at QPR and our able coach was playing the likes of etebo, agu and onazi(who had declined)? THIS WAS after he had trained with Nigeria and was expecting a call up, instead Rohr waited for England to call him before hurriedly trying to convince him. In other to appease his employers and SE fans for the loss, he then hurriedly calls up samuel chukwueze (who was also doing well at the time). If a player has ability mixed with confidence, I will say play him. Experience has its place, if the said experience is matched with form then it should give way ability, youth and form.
If experience is not matched with form*
Dessers definitely deserves to go to the Afcon. Iwobi and Ekong can be there for experience but space must be created for Sadiq Umar and Amoo as trump cards. Chidi Nwakali is a good centre midfielder but we have Onyeka and Aribo. With Gernot Rohr Nigeria will win the Afcon all ends up with basket full of goals. He will go back to his 4.2.3.1 formation with the following players.
Okoye
Awaziem, Balogun, Ekong, Collins
Ndidi, Aribo
Chukwueze Iwobi Simon
Dessers (Ighalo in 60 minutes)
Arrruuuuuubbbaaaa!!!!
@Igbekun Abo bro barring deffence and Midfield the attack is our second string attack. Dennis Osimhen(Fit) Chukwueze or Vic Moses
Awoniyi or Dessers on for Osimhen. Vic Moses can play a wing back role then Dennis and Ejuke can Switch. but Simon on current form should be in the squad yes but he is third choice in my books. Ighalo for me on Awoniyi and Dessers current form should not be considered ahead of Dessers or Awoniyi. There is no way Awoniyi will not translate that club form into SE especially after Rohr dropped him conscpicously last 2 games the boy has a point to prove this will be the best time to have Awoniyi in he will deliver. Some times I wonder how some people reason.
Well said @Ugo. I agree with your modified line up.
Hmmmmmm! That’s must be very a foolish Coach to even contemplate of compiling a list of players when he has only 18days to camping.
Whatever happened to the 40-man list he sent to CAF. I no get sense means ode!
Not just on the pitch alone, even on csn platform, people are already scoring goals.. Bobo wants to score too. He’s not an ode but only laboring to secure a goal on csn platform. Ha ha ha, Desser is good at scoring goals.
@Golden Child
Your points are simply golden( no pun intended).
It totally align to what I have always referenced. Merit over anything.
Experience is subjective. Contextual at best. Without opportunity there would be no experience.
We should always go for those that deserve the spot. Quality goes beyond age, size et al. Every one deserving should be given the chance to earn their spot. Such brings discipline and productivity.
My support for Rohr was born out of the fact he has always gone for merit. At least he started his tenure that way. But recently,he seemed to have derailed. Hence I wonder!
I understand every coach has a preference,in terms of player choice. But not to the detriment of those deserving and the team at large.
Well going forward, one can only hope he gets back to those ethics and his selection is merit base. The best of us should be the preferred. Rohr deserves that for himself. Nigeria deserves it even more.
Right now we can only hope, remain positive and wish for the best.
No matter what, we stand with the Eagles.
@Mr hush, I really pray he has a change of heart, the nation needs a lift. Have you wondered why the likes of M.olise have refused to play for NIGERIA? Might just be that our play is not inspiring.if the SE performance is red hot and has gotten all tongues wagging then it might have drawn their interest but it is the SE where a clubless player gets mins in a competitive qualifier ahead of players who were active at their clubs. Let us be honest if you are eze, m.olise would you want to be part of that setup? Most of us clamouring for players in the team, would have called for their heads if it were clubs that you support. We have no choice but to support whoever dons our colours.
The same England national team that Eze wants to play is the same set up playing John Stones who hardly gets minutes for Manchester City and Harry Maguire and Harry Kane both of who have struggled badly for Manchester United and Tottenham. There are other players playing more regularly and doing better than Stones, Maguire and Kane yet Coach Gareth Southgate continues to invite and play the 3 players ahead of others.
So should Eze shun the England national team for this reason?
Oga, if you widen your tentacles you will discover that what you ascribe to Rohr happens in other national teams on the globe

Apple and oranges! They key word was “clubless”.can a player without a club play a qualifier for the 3 lions?
@Golden boy, Gary Breen, have you heard of him? He went to the 2002 world cup with Ireland after he was released by Coventry. He played all the Matches for Ireland in Japan / Korea. So, it has happened before. Also Craig Moore went to the 2010 World Cup for Australia and played without having a club at the time.
Please, only state what you know sir….
@Golden Boy, no matter what you might say about Rohr’s team selection, it still qualified Nigeria for the Afcon with games to spare and on cause to qualify us for the world cup. Plus we remain firm favourites to lift the Afcon. I have my doubts about Rohr’s selection too but guess what, every Super Eagles fan is a super coach. We all are experts at who and who should be in the team rather that leave the coach to do their job. There is nothing golden about your suggestions. It is just subjective which will find home with those disgruntled fans who are already fed up with Rohr. Nothing wrong with that, we should just be guided by a sense of perspective. Even in the England, Spain and Italy national teams, many of their fans question inclusions and exclusions in squad selections so Rohr is not alone. He has his trusted players who by and large deliver for him. We can always peddle our fantasy squads but no serious minded coach will take the comments of fans who don’t have any coaching license or exposure seriously. These testosterone fuelled opinions have no place in serious football boardrooms.
Bro, I am entitled to my opinion as you are yours. Let us agree to disagree. No need to say my submissions are not golden. Let us be accommodating of divergent views. For the world cup qualifiers, he did not qualify with a game to spare and that should worry us. It was a nail biting and nervy affair.is this an indicator that the gaffer is losing it? Where is this sense of perspective in calling a retired ighalo ahead of younger players who are doing well in tougher leagues? Where is this perspective in giving mins to a player that was clubless? We can’t be selective on this”perspective”.
Socrates said ” if children are afraid of the dark, it is understandable but when adults are afraid of the light, it is tragic”. Let us speak the truth at all times.
@Golden Child, I am at liberty to ascribe an adjective to any entry I read on here hence I stand by original assessment that your previous entry lacked any element of gold standard. Your reply to my text is even more wooden at best and wonky at worse. For world cup qualifier Rohr did not qualify for with a game to spare, are you actually for real? This is a campaign that Nigeria stayed on top of the ground throughout, winning all away matches and only losing and drawing on an haphazard home pitch that has now been rightly banned by CAF/FIFA. What do you have to say about that? Now you wonder why your views have no weight in gold.
Again, because Rohr has now “spoilt” you with qualifying for tournaments with games at hand, now you have come to expect this as standard, Joker! Perhaps we should remind you of when we failed to qualify for the Afcon altogether before Rohr took charge and started qualifying with games to spare.
Fans can hit their heads on a stone for all I care about Ighalo. Ighalo is a Nigerian citizen who is fit, virile and flying in club football. He has elected to come out of retirement to fight for his place, what the hell is wrong with that? Rohr gave Terem Moffi 3 caps and the guy was crap. Taiwo Awoniyi needs time to find his footing in national team football and the same goes for Dessers and Sadiq Umar. Rohr wanted a quick fix and he went for Ighalo. The same fans who bemoaned Ighalo’s recall are the same one praising Victor Moses’ return despite the plethora of wonderful young wingers we currently have available to the Super Eagles. This for me is hatred against a fellow man and all those who kicked against Ighalo’s return should take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror. I am not a fan of Ighalo and would rather he stays away. But I know my place as a fan and respect the judgement of the current Super Eagles coaching crew.
Musa was played when he was clubless as a mark of respect for all he has done for the Super Eagles and in hope that he will find his footing soon. I don’t agree with it but I know that national team football has dynamics which are beyond my knowledge and comprehension, so again, I leave it to the judgement of experts who have been doing this job when you were still in diapers.
It is easy to come to a public forum and make flippant comments based on periphery knowledge but you have to be careful to make a coach look bad when you have no clue of how things work in national team football other than from the viewpoint of a fan.
You can make your submissions without being rude. Calling me a joker is uncalled for, notice I have not resorted to calling you names. I would ignore your puerile antics and stay on the issue. How come we did not see this sign of respect with footballing powerhouses like Brazil, Germany, France? With those countries they are business like. Africa’s greatest Achilles heels is sentiments. They want to pick a leader , they resort to tribal sentiments, to pick a team on merit, sentiments again and they wonder why thinks do not work. America is considered one of the greatest countries today because it is a place where an immigrant can become governor or president. What a society! They do not care where you come from but your content and what you can offer. It is ok to for someone to have a different opinion to you, no need for the aggression. We all love the team and no matter the team that is assembled we would all support. Some of us share our views because we want better for our country and no one should be called names for that.
@Golden Child, I apologise if you find some of my language offensive. It was just friendly banter. I have already provided an example where England’s coach Gareth Southgate invited and played bench warmers and underachievers ahead of more deserving players. These things happen all the time in one guise or the other.
Point of correction, an immigrant can never be the President of the United States, so you were wrong. Only people born in America can be president. Everywhere there is sentimental judgment even in western countries, so please stop stating what you don’t know. Gernot Rohr invites players who he firmly believes can help him meet his targets. We should respect that rather than attributing wrongdoing to him of making baseless accusation of ‘sentimental selection’. Take it from me if you become the coach of Nigeria, there will be a degree of sentiments that will guide your selection and there will be 100s of fans who will disagree with you. One love brother.
@Igbadun Ado, apologies accepted. To the issue, do you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger was from Austria and later became Governor of California? He was an immigrant. Also do you know Trump grand parents were migrants from I think Germany? Don’t get me started with Obama.
Igbekun Ado*
@Golden Child, please read my comments correctly. ONLY THOSE BORN IN THE UNITED STATES CAN RUN FOR THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
As for state governors, this rule does not apply hence why Arnold could run for the governor of Califonia. A recurring theme in all my responses to you is ‘say only what you know, what you are 100% certain of’.
Ok, I submit. YOU ARE RIGHT THERE!
An immigrant can never be a president in the US. He or she must be American born. Governors or senators yes but never a president or Vice President. But the broad economy opens doors of opportunities for immigrants worldwide.

Thoughtful questions.
Sometimes one wonders.
But I am never one for assumptions. I am always down for objectivity as much as it can lead me.
That said; I believe Rohr should be given the benefit of the doubt. He still have the time to turn things around ; the Afcon and world cup qualifier is a foundation to build on. So let’s be patient and see how things goes.

I think our Coach Rohr knows the boys he needs to prosecute Afcon
Mind you, no be talk am before y’all come for my head. @James Okoduwa made the opinion. And I had to repost this shit cos I like it when I meet people who share the same thought like me…

Again no be me talk am.

Lol. @Damian

What they don’t know is Afcon is not a child’s play. I’m wondering what Ighalo’s bile is all about. The same people that want Rohr to be sacked are now advising him on who to field.
@Biggyflex because of this talk I owe one carton of knockout/banger for this Christmas
