Anthony Nwakaeme was on target in Trabzonspor’s 3-1 loss to Krasnodar in Thursday’s Europa League game, reports Completesports, com.

Nwakaeme came off the bench in the 65th minute to his side’s only goal of the game.

It was his eighth appearance for Trabzonspor in the competition this season.

Nwakaeme’s compatriot and former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel was not listed for the game at Krasnodar Stadium.

At the Ibrox Stadium, Joe Aribo played for seven minutes in Glasgow Rangers’ 2-0 home win against FC Porto.

Aribo took the place of Ryan Kent in the 83rd minute.

Olympic Eagles captain Azubuike Okechukwu played a key role in Istanbul Basaksehir’s 3-0 away win against Wolsberger AC.

He was replaced by Eljero Elia a minute from regulation time.

Umar Sadiq played for 85 minutes in Partizan Belgrade’s 3-0 loss to Manchester United at the Old Trafford.

I dey look Gerrard from a distance. Ever since Aribo came back from the game against Brazil, na so so bench. Today, only 7 mins against Porto. I will be observing closely, because this makes no sense to me! Are they trying to frustrate this guy because of his willingness to play for Nigeria? I don’t want to be a conspiracy theorist, but I did not see any Rangers midfielder paraded today that is better than Aribo. So it begs the queston – what is Aribo doing on the bench? The only explanation I will accept is injury or tiredness. Otherwise, Gerrard, HOW FAR?

Oga their last two league matches before Europa areibo played as a matter of fact he is one of gerrads favorite lad,get your facts right bro

Mbanu, Chidi, he has been coming in as a sub after the Brazil game. If the guy has lost form, or there are better players than him, no wahala. But we all saw how he played so well against Brazil, holding his own against Casemiro and co in he middle. I just don’t see how a player like that can’t be starting in Rangers!

  • no nigerian player can suit that gerrard playin style. etc sadiq umar was rated high before got there. but surprisingly sadiq became bench warmer despite he (gerard) talk good of him, but never give him playin time.

same go ejaria. fans were bullying him, saying he is not good to be a player. but now look at ejaria, best player in the championship.

    sheyi ojo having same thing.

now aribo. though gerard dont like to play “attacking midfield” game. instead he play 2 centre midfields and a defensive midfielder. and aribo is an attacking midfielder. which mean aribo and arfield will be on bench.

my advice is aribo should quit rangers now. gerard is a centre midfielder so only believe in centre midfield. infact every nigerian should stay away from gerard.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I also had Ejaria, Ojo and especially Sadiq in mind when I made my comment about Aribo. Lol, before they start calling me a conspiracy theorist, I insist that I have no such agenda. I’m only looking at the situation on ground without bias. Aribo is actually a box to box midfielder. I still don’t see any valid reason for benching the guy, given the other players available. It just reeks of preferential treatment favoring British players, and Aribo is no longer in this category because he switched his allegiance to Nigeria. Look what is happening in Chelsea, where Lampard is benching world cup winner Giroud, experienced campaigner Batshuayi, for Tammy Abraham? With due respect to Tammy, unless Giroud and Batshuayi have experienced a drastic loss of form or injury, both should be ahead of Tammy in the pecking order. Anyway, that is Lampard’s business. For Aribo, fortunately, the January transfer window is almost here. Now is the time to start looking for another club.

  • aribo that run riot as CAM for ranger 4:0 win. registered 3assists, hit woodwork, and 6dribbles. they believe defensively to unleash only the 3attacker. gerard dont use deep striker. so no deep striker can exist in ranger. aribo should move to where deep striker used like ejaria
