Europa: Lookman Scores As Atalanta Beat Sporting Lisbon, Book Quarter-finals Spot

Ademola Lookman was on target for Atalanta who came from a goal down to beat Sporting Lisbon and reach the Europa League quarter-finals in Thursday’s round of 16 second leg game.

Atalanta went into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw in the first leg and go through on a 3-2 aggregate scoreline.

Pedro Goncalves put Sporting Lisbon 1-0 ahead in the 33rd minute but Lookman made it 1-1 on 46 minutes.

In the 59th minute Gianluca Scamacca scored to put Atalanta 2-1 ahead proved to be the winner.

In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen staged a dramatic comeback to beat 10-man Qarabag to progress into the last eight.

The Bundesliga leaders have now gone 37 games unbeaten.

Nathan Tella did not play in the game as he was an unused substitute for Xabi Alonso men.

Their unbeaten streak looked to be in danger of coming to an end after Qarabaq raced to a 2-0 lead and take control of the tie on 4-2 aggregate.

But just like the first leg, Leverkusen fought back to level the score thanks to goals from Jeremiah Frimpong (72 min) and Patrik Schick (93rd min).

Then in the 98th minute Schick netted the winner to send Leverkusen through 5-4 on aggregate.

Other second leg round of 16 ties saw Rangers, with Cyriel Dessers in action, crash out after losing 1-0 at home to Benfica, Samuel Chukwueze subbed on as Milan beat Slavia Prague 3-1 away to advance while Liverpool, Roma, Marseille and West Ham also going through to the quarter-finals.
