Europa: Man United Not Strong Enough To Fight Back Against Sevilla –Eriksen

Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has blamed the team’s defeat to Sevilla in the second leg of the Europa League, to the players’ inability to fight back despite going down.

United were hammered 3-0 in the second-leg of their quarterfinal to go out 5-2 on aggregate.

Eriksen said: “We didn’t really get in the game from the first minute but we gave them a lot of opportunities. We lost a bit of our coolness in the build-up, we made more mistakes than we normally do. We could have caught up on the mistakes we made but we didn’t. If we give away goals as we do today we will lose.

“Sometimes you have good days, sometimes you have bad days and today was one of the bad days. Luckily we have a game in four days.

“Every football player makes mistakes … mistakes like these, they punish us straight away, and today we were not strong enough to bounce back.”
