Everton Plan To Offload Besic

Everton will allow midfielder Muhamed Besic to leave Goodison Park this summer with clubs in Turkey believed to be interested. Bosnia and Herzegovina international Besic has spent the best part of the last 18 months on loan at Championship club Middlesbrough after falling down the pecking order with the Toffees.

First-team opportunities haven’t been a gimme for the 26-year-old in the Championship either, but he has impressed over recent matches after responding well to a spell on the sidelines.

Besic’s focus between now and the end of the season will be on trying to help Boro earn promotion back to the Premier League, but it appears he will be deemed surplus to requirements upon his return to Merseyside, as Everton are reportedly looking to offload him on a permanent basis.

Turkish giants Besiktas and Fenerbahce are both believed to be showing an interest in Besic, who had featured regularly for Everton prior to sustaining a serious knee ligament injury in August 2016.

Middlesbrough could also come back in for the former Hamburg player, although the likelihood of that move will almost certainly depend on whether Tony Pulis’ side do earn promotion back to the top-flight.
